I am competely late to the discussion, I also think fanfiction about real people is creepy but knowing that people ship everything it's not really shocking to me that strange fanfiction exits on skaters.

I do understand the appeal of writing about skating, and creating original characters is not easy (I am in the throws of this at the moment). But I personally do not like reading made up stories on real people.

In fact it really depends on the fanfiction... I wouldn't throw them all under the same umbrella.
I agree that most of RPF is reaaally creepy, but don't believe either that all fanfics are badly written creepy fantasies about real people love (and, sex :eeking:) lives. Some (rare) fanfictions are more in the "study of character" vein, trying to find the inner voices to events that really happened (or that could have happened realistically), not shipping fantasies. SOme are serious, other comical (like the cute chibi cartoons everybody loves here). And those ones are in my opinion perfectly respectful of the people they're writing on, at least when they stay in character. Those are usually well written, and pretty interesting tbh :-).

But this forum is clearly not the good place to debate about fanfiction, nor to promote it ;)

About fanfic, most of fanfic that i found indeed creepy.. I can't read those.. I'm not into shipping yuzu with others.. But I really like how yuzu interact with other skaters.. He looks friendly..
 
I don't read fanfic and I don't want to put it all in a box and judge anyone simply for reading/writing it indiscriminately of genre... But I personally cannot imagine how real people fanfic can be appropriate. I get the notion, you are really into something, a story/character, but the original content is not enough for you and you are curious about the gaps in the story. But projecting that onto real people... and imagining their privacy and intimacy, a part of them they rightfully do not disclose to you, is disrespectful and inappropriate imo.

In any case, I agree that Yuzu fanfics of all kinds should be kept out of the fan fest as a general rule.

Gr: Yuzuru Hanyu from Japan.
TAT: This year he won the GPF.
Gr: With a result just under 100 points. In the SP.
TAT: 4T. Easy. But Zhenya (Evgeny Plushenko) had 4-3! His spin was wonderful. His second spin is wonderful too. He sits down very low – it’s always highly appreciated and assessed. 3A from a very difficult entry. No one enters their 3A like that – with a rocker.
Gr: Abbott used to jump it like that.
TAT: 3-3. Lutz-toeloop. His skating is very good, free! It fits the style, it’s musical. You see how much turned out his feet are – no one has to teach him to turn his feet out, he was just born with such feet! A difficult position in the last spin, everything is level 4 and everything will get positive GOE. He had a great skate!
Gr: Well done!

Gr: And of course he’s so light, so airy, when he enters his spin, it seems to accelerate more and more. He’s like a feather!
TAT: We’ll see. He’s got the season’s best – 99.84
Gr: It isn’t just the season’s best – it’s the world record.
TAT: That’s the WR in the SP.
Gr: He got even more in the Japanese Nationals, but it doesn’t count. Brian Orser.
TAT: There you can see Mao Asada standing. The team has come to support him, just the way our team supported our Zhenya. It was’t so easy to do that, as he cleaned the ice a lot. He fell a lot. You see, that he didn’t quite make the toe-loop… no, he didn’t quite make the lutz, but got himself to jump the toe-loop. There’s the whole team – the two girls, the dance pair… you see how good he is, he's bowing to his coach! He fell from his salchow today.
Gr: Did he?
TAT: He did. Several times. I was at the practices…
Gr: Perhaps that morning shock could come in handy…
TAT: Oh yes, he’s also jet-lagged (or getting used to the climate). The distance between Japan and Sochi must be around seven hours. In winter time…
Gr: In the depth of the winter…
TAT: In the depth of the winter, yes.
Gr: Now we’ll see. But the Japanese team is training in Armenia…
TAT: We’ll see. I think he’ll win
Gr: Yes, with a brilliant result – 97.98. His new result today. He comes first leaving Evgeny Plushenko behind by 6 points.

Same with me.. Same..

You know.. It's hard to stop all of the creepy fanfics..
Yuzu had a good looks.. And he has many fans (compare to other skaters).. There will always be some creepy fans among normal fans.. I hope some ppl who became new fans of yuzu because of the anime about skating (u know , Yuri on ice) not making creepy fanfic about him

And guys, I think we can stop talking about fanfic since most of us seem to agree the fanfest is not the place to discuss it. Love it, hate it, there are many other places you can gush about it or denounce it.

I was in fact astounded no one got round to translating the commentaries for his best known outings. After all, the casual viewer will have seen only these!

Two more variants of the individual event are coming. SP only, I suppose - his FS was a traumatic experience, though not as traumatic as that of Patrick Chan!

And TAT is actually pretty reserved here - you can feel both her appreciation of Yuzu and her jealousy of him. :) She'll be a lot more gushy around autumn 2015.

I think one of the best things about Yuzu is his sportsmanship and general friendliness with other skaters. He is very focused on his own success but it doesn't make him a petty competitior. He is very gracious to his competitors and it is great to see his continuous friendship some of them.
