M:I agree, some elements from competitors before, you have +1, +2 compared to Yuzuru's +3...you feel like it's a bit of a loss. You want to apologize, you want to give him more.

this is really refreshing
I wish some judges felt a little more apologetic sometimes!!!

Anyway, thanks for the translation:thank:
It's a little bit of a shame that they didn't seem to know his program and thus the changes very well but I still enjoyed reading this commentary

Okay I know I said I thought it would be too hard to translate, but it actually wasn't that bad. Maybe because I know Yuzu's layout so I knew what to expect. Anyway, I get the feeling both commentators really really like Yuzu. They kept on gushing about how every jump is so HQ. I like them because they're pretty respectful and they don't talk over the performance.

Thanks, my love <3 <3 I updated the spreadsheet (and am reminded that I signed myself up to translate things, oops.)
I enjoyed their commentary too, I think the man was a former figure skater, though I have no idea who the lady was.

Haha yeah, I wish the judges (0 for 3A? Huh??! 1 for 3F?!? Hm?!??!) would feel apologetic and go study the rulebook more. Tsk.

And predictions about worlds are making me suuuuper nervous, I'm already having trouble sleeping and it's past 4am here :hopelessness:
I just want to hope for an outcome that will make Yuzu happy

edit: LOL I did th ething again where I tried to edit my post but ended up quoting myself... it's way too late here :palmf:

I think this is not the first time I heard commentators this kind of comment about him (and if I'm not wrong, the other one is for 4CC LP too) which speaks a lot.
But, yeah, I hope the judges think like that too.

@AppleEmperor Thank you!!

now, I'm no expert but even I understand the GOE bullet thingy so that makes me think?? maybe they have an updated rulebook I have not seen yet??? the rules have changed?? ???

oh yes, it's a super secret rulebook that's available only to certain judges that's changed every other competition...how else do we explain the crazy deviations of goe scoring? :scratch2:

Thought this was interesting... (1:51, 2:56, 3:21)

I know Yuzu isn't the only one to that did those moves but coming from Evgenia and having 3 in the same program, I dont think this is a coincidence

I try not to think about it because it hurts my soul, my reason, my belief in whatever integrity the human race have left etc :drama: it's a mystery! Or I guess they didn't expect other people to actually read the rulebook or... watch slow motions I guess... :disapp:

Most of that GOE wierdness is outside of this but I heard the judges don't have a slowmo replay (?just the tech panel?) so they have to judge on the fly for the most part. I don't get what some of the judges are doing, (There was a time Gracie got a 1 for a bad fall on a combo, I love her but it made no sense). Politicking, Bias and Mistakes in judging are all things that happen and seem to be forever doomed to keep happening. Some of it will always be completely off.

Certainly not a coincidence! I watched it yesterday and this perfomance made me smile a lot, it was so evident. But it was also beautiful and her hydroblade impoved since Europeans. She clearly had been working on it.

 help!

Anyone could help find the photo of Yuzu (plus another person I think) at Sochi olympic village holding a big Japanese flag with signatures of fans/supporters. Arigato

It's not. Yesterday when asked who inspires her in figure skating, she answered Yuzuru Hanyu without giving it a second thought and she always watches his performance.

Maybe it's just my imagination but I think she even tries to choose GP events where he also competes...

Hmmm, I can't see yesterday's four translations of mine for some reason in the sheet...

Don't worry, I've added them!

Everything except the knee slide fits well with the music and the theme. Cuteness though! Next time ina bauer going to be layback~

Yes, the knee slide doesn't fit at all, it is just she really wanted to do it .

At GPF she stayed during man FS practice and was watching Yuzu all the time. And at Gala rehearsal she stayed on ice until the very end, watching and clapping.
After all she has good taste .

They seem to get along very well. And I mean, they're both passionate about skating, they love jump battles and are all geeky about mangas and animes... Sure they've got a lot in common :)
And yes, she has good taste for sure

I also heard some who said they might press the button wrongly? It was like Kolyada who got +2 GOE (???!!!!!!!) on a fall (it was such a ruckus back then). But I would think that judge who gave him 0 GOE maybe was just inexperienced (I doubt there would be many circumstances where s/he judges internationally?). S/he probably think that because he did a makeshift layout then it does not deserve +3/+2 or something. But the majority of the judges gave him +3 so I eventually don't mind about it. I doubt slowmo replay matters much for the judges. They are not tech panel who determine correct edge and rotation; and things like entry/exit/steps/landings are not something needed to be seen in slowmo :confused2:

I hope for bigger events they would really choose judges and technical panels who are experienced AND have the minimum conflict of interest. ;) People can hate on Shin Amano all they want, but at least he is consistently stingy to everyone
