For some reason this move always looks wrong when ladies do it, but men (*cough* Javi *cough*) can start their programs that way and I won't look twice :p

Except in Yuzu's case, I'll totally stop and rewind, replay, rewind, replay like a well-trained hamster. Now that you mention it, I don't particularly remember instances of ladies doing it even though that's impossible :scratch3:

Really, now?
:laugh2: Joking haha.
I liked the little change he made to the ina bauer in h&l, i was sad that he didn't do it at 4cc. We talked about how it felt a bit rushed at the beginning of the season but that little change made it look a thousand times better...

don't worry I love Hydroblade too, but if I have to choose, sure Ina bauer will come on top

yeahh like I said before, apart from fall and pops his H&L on GPF is my fav, but if the Ina bauer start to hurt him, I don't mind if someday Yuzu may drop it like the biellman :( :sad4:

I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of the Biellmann...

Mirai did a besti, I am pretty sure of that.

Besti got its unofficial name thanks to Natalya Bestemyanova doing it - so... she at least must have done it! Watched it - not quite as well as Yuzu, in my opinion...
Nighty-night, folks!

You mean, the Biellman will comeback at Worlds?
Somehow I have a mixed feeling, sure I want him to keep the Biellman, you know on GPF I loving the way he drop the leg so sofly, so beautiful
but if it indeed hurt him, I don't mind if Yuzu drop it permanently

Jumping is so fun though  When I practice as an adult skater I need to force myself to do X rounds of edges, 3-turns, etc. because otherwise I would be jumping (singles at most but still...) all day and I wouldn't even realize

It's good you find enjoyment out of it cause skating in general is not just for me and I prefer to just watch

Why is the hydroblade so hard for some? Gracie tried to do it in her SP this season and it never, ever worked.

Well it wasn't quite a hydroblade but it was similar. I really liked her first step sequence with the hydrobladish move because it was different for her, not the cliche princessy stuff. Sadly she never skated it to it's potential and honestly probably didn't train her first short program step sequence for very long.

I think it is difficult because many skaters either don't try those kinda of moves early in their skating or it just takes a ton of strength to hold on an edge in that way with the speed Yuzu gets. There just really isn't anyone who does it as well as him.

I somehow don't think that he was hurt by the Biellmann. I think it was just a precaution, especially since he changed the way he drops his leg. That and just my gut feeling makes me think that he won't drop it unless he can't do it anymore, i can't english today  i'm struggling to explain myself, i think.
see kids? this is what happens when you spend all weekend studying japanese

Hi, does anyone have a link to the Universal coverage of Yuzuru's fs at NHK 2016? Found a bit of it in a cut YouTube video and realized that I had never seen it before - and because I'm quite curious I can't really stop thinking about it (might have been GPF16 but I don't think so) :drama: :palmf: Would really appreciate it

Edit: Found the "cut video", seems to be nbc coverage of GPF16 (my bad - sorry) but not the one with Weir and Tara, other commentators? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODu_yo4ItSI

It worries me a bit though that he didn't do Biellmann - I mean there must be some reason right? Though he did seem to be in great shape at 4cc so perhaps he's was just a bit cautious - I mean stranger things have happened (or have they? I'm not sure )

Some of us noticed him a bit stiff in his upper body. Didn't seem like anything serious, i think he was just being cautious :)

Your English is good today, well atleast you are not started using alien words like 'suuu-paa' or something

I hope so too, it will be nice if we can see biellmann again at worlds

Why would that be an issue? I think we all understand what 'suu/shuu paa' means here
We have to learn alien language if we want to visit Planet Hanyu 😇

ok this is random but I'm just watching a few of Jun Hwan's programs and... is it just me or is Borser doing Yuzu's mou chotto move?? (and is Jun Hwan copying Yuzu's facial expression right after that? or is it really just me?)

Also it is so funny to watch Orser with Jun Hwan in the kiss and cry... Yuzu is usually the more animated one between the two but Jun Hwan is coolness in person and it almost feels like Orser feels awkward with the silence LOL

You're doing great! I will soon be joining you in studying Japanese weekends gone forever.

The lack of Biellmann didn't bother me (it always looked painful anyway) but the lack of lean on the knee slide definitely stuck out to me.

ETA: 1000th post in my favorite thread
