I agree so for the time he will keep skating I will appreciate every moment he is on ice, even this moment of anxiety , following yuzu is like watching a suspense film, at least for me, you never know what's going to happen next

Yes, I always appreciate him. I love his skating, even I'm crying just watching his video practicing H&L.. seriously, I'm crying at the step sequences, I just feel the music and his skating so much

We have to take into account the BV difference between Yuzuru and Javi. If Yuzu does a clean program I don't know how the judges will manage to mess with his scores...but well everything is possible in this world. Tbh, right now I only want him to do a performance which he can be proud of, and satisfied. I don't care about scores and places anymore.

And yeah, I get some instances in which I also think "hmm that may have been too harsh of a call", but it doesn't mean the ISU or JSF want him out. He's had the best results out of any Japanese skater this season, and the times he's been beaten (Patrick in the SP at SC, Nathan and Shoma in the GPF FS, and in the 4 CC SP) weren't because he was robbed. He made mistakes, the others didn't or were less costly. But he still got the 3rd highest PCS of the night and I have no doubt that, if he skates clean he will break his WR (I can't say he will win because at this point it's not just up to him but I will sure hope so!)

I don't understand the need to find excuses and resort to blaming fed backing etc. to his scores. He made the mistakes and got those scores because of them. I don't think he said he doubted his abilities because he didn't get a good score from the judges but rather because he messed up the combo and couldn't give a no-miss performance even though his condition was good. He also didn't realize then that the deduction was from the late start.

Let's not trivialize his abilities by tying his scoring potential so tightly to the judges and his supposed fed backing that is going to Shoma now. He does not need to be gifted to score high, he just has to perform.

You make an important point. I think it's both reasons though. His own mistakes plus other considerations. And since we are analyzing his point deficit, both become relevant.

I think he's going to break it. But I'm shallow and it's Javi, he's nice to Yuzu, if he breaks it I won't be mad. Yuzuru will still be the first who broke the 300 mark and broke his own record twice.

That's the thing, Javi is a nice guy. He had a rough season in many ways, and now is looking awesome so you feel happy for him. But I think that if Javi wins again it will be even worse for Yuzu than if it was someone else. My biggest wish for the Olympics is for both guys to skate clean, in both programs, so both will feel good about themselves and it won't be at the expense of the other.

In all honesty, not only JSF but all the skating world should be glad for Yuzuru Hanyu. I mean, can you name other skaters that can move people all across the world to an insignificant competition like Autumn Classic? Do they think that there will be in the future years another skater with so much following all around the world, from all nations? No and this is the big difference between Yuzuru Hanyu and the other skaters. They skate, they may skate well but they IMO won't "make FS great again". Yuzu has done this basically by himself already.

However, when he is out I think I'll follow. I should already have done this after Yuna in Sochi and, guess what? I stayed only for Yuzu. Since there is no one who really draws me in so much, in every other discipline.

Agreed. He made the mistakes. The tech panel were harsh. He was unlucky skating first. But he still scored higher here with the deductions than at 4CC when he popped the 4S but got the 3T tacked on and got points for the combo. Of course he's disappointed but I think he's less disappointed in the tech panel calls than in not performing his ideal skate.

FS is a HUMAN judged sport, making things complicated enough. Anyways, I do think Yuzu personally should be fully responsible for the sp result; he let the door open, and the others (skaters, judges, fed, balabalabala) did not miss the chance.

Anyone noticed how he panicked for a bit when he saw that Pooh want in the boards? He couldn't even tell Brian, he was just hitting the boards with his hand and pointing to Pooh until Brian put it back...

I still think he'll end up on the podium. I have him 3rd in my predictions, but I'd be very very nicely surprised if he places higher. Too bad my finger crossing didn't bring him a SP medal, I'll have to try something else when FPs begin on Saturday, perhaps ritual candle burning or something... I'm sad for Hanyu, but I can't agree with what he says about his lack of ability. Just look at a veteran like Chan, not superconsistent, but bouncing back to get medals regularly. I'd love it if Hanyu kept winning everything, and would wish it for him if only to make him stop doubting himself, but as we say in these parts: "not every day is a feast day". Keep faith, Yuzuru. The hard work will pay off, if not now then a bit later, I am positive of it.

In this sport, nothing is impossible. But scoring does not really bother me at this point.
