Max Aaron

I love that Max's suit is three-piece. I am not so sure about the pattern on it. Hmm. ...

It does takes confidence to choose a suit with such a bold pattern.
And I like that Max has the confidence to carry it off and stand out and show some of his go-big-or-go-home personality .
He has at least two suits that are classic/conservative, so I am happy for him to mix things up and have a change of pace with this one :dance2:.

Doug Ladret posted this photo of Max (who was skating up at Monument) and has revealed the name he used to call him...

If you don't awwwwwwww at the "he was a great kid and has become a great young man" then what is wrong with you

Do you think the origin could be Max + Happy = Mappy??? :yay:

In any case, very sweet post from DL :luv17:. Thanks for sharing it.

A comment from Max is one of the Team USA snippets in the NBC Olympics video re: "Ever wonder what the most terrifying 10 seconds in skating are?"

Max is seen/heard at approx. 0:57 of the two-minute video.

I could be wrong, but I think maybe his snippet is from older footage recorded by NBC when he was a Sochi hopeful??

In any case, I am glad that Max continues to be on the radar of NBC.

He nails it, though. That time between when you take position and the music starts is utterly terrifying. No matter how calm you were before this moment, it all flies out the window as you wait for the music to start.

Ooops, had forgotten earlier to send Happy Passover wishes to Max (and his family).

Hope that he was or will be able to attend a Seder this year.

Yesterday Max tweeted gratitude for a new Colorado law that allows state-supported institutions to offer in-state tuition rates to Team USA athletes (in Olympic and Paralympic sports) who train in Colorado, regardless of permanent residency.

A tweet from Team USA's Athlete Career Coach had even thanked Max and Mirai (and other athletes) for helping to get the bill passed.

The article about the new bill mentions that it is a step beyond the former law under which "in-state tuition was only offered to Team USA athletes who trained at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, with nearly 200 athletes benefiting from the program since 2013."

So I think Mirai (who is quoted in the article) and Max already were benefiting from in-state tuition rates :yay:, but they are supporting the expansion of eligibility to a greater number of athletes.

(Mirai attended the governor's bill signing on Apr 13 .

I saw that Max had retweeted this, and I was so glad that it passed, what with the whacked-out American education system. So he helped it, did he? Well well, PolitiBat?

MAX FOR PRESIDENT!~ VOTE 1 SNUGGLEBAT.

Max was in two of the photos in Lindsay Weinstein's Instagram post today:

The second Max one (the last of four photos in her post) is especially cute.

[In case anyone is wondering about Lindsay's msg: her partnership with Jacob Simon has ended (and he has a new partner in Colorado Springs).
Apparently Lindsay's friends in Colorado Springs had a farewell dinner for her.
I think (but am not sure) that she is relocating to pursue her skating career elsewhere. (She was on icepartnersearch as of at least a couple of weeks ago -- have not checked to see whether her listing still is there.)
Good luck to Lindsay :ghug:.]

Out of curiosity, I had looked around a bit, but never found any detail as to how Max helped with the education bill.
Only a guess, but maybe a legislative committee interviewed him about his experience as a scholar/athlete from out of state who is training at the OTC? (Or asked for written remarks from him?)

Anyway, I think Max would make a great public servant :agree:.
If he ever ran for office, I hope I could work on his campaign.

I think (and hope) that Max has too much sense to ever run for office.

Great pic and quote. Amen to that, Max!

I just need to have a little frustrated rant. Vincent Zhou has posted about being in SOI. Great for him. But where the heck have Max's invites gone? Zhou is the silver medallist - well, so was Max last year, and there was no invite for him.

The Shibs also aren't on SOI this year (but Chock & Bates are?). Neither is Jason - in fact, I don't think Jason has been on the SOI cast since 2014. I always thought that the Shibs and Jason have had a lot of appeal. Who knows what's going on? :scratch2:

Somewhere in the dreck that Dave Lease was tweeting, there were some tidbits of news. He had some tweets about the agents for different skaters and their relationship to SOI. *That* I might actually be interested in, but then Dave went off on mother rant....

I do hope it is not because Snugglador does not have the "right" agent.....

I'm going be be seeing Max this weekend at Showtime on Ice!

FYI, Showtime on Ice had a couple of scheduled meet-and-greets in 2015 ... might have been publicized only on social media, IIRC???

Not sure about 2016.

Anyway, if you would be interested, worth keeping your eyes and ears open and possibly making inquiries.

Have a great time. I'm on Team Envious too :ghug:.

Wow, that photo of Max is awesome :luv17:. One of the best ever, I'd say.

Max will perform in a benefit show on July 11 in Fort Collins, Colorado. (4 to 6 pm.)

The show is in support of Jeremy Barrett's wife Lucy Galleher (herself a skater and coach), who recently was diagnosed with leukemia.  Lucy is pregnant with the couple's first child.

Audrey Weisiger of Grassroots to Champions is organizing the show.
Others performing: Ryan Bradley; Mirai; Angela Wang; Jason; Madi Hubbell and Zach; Vanessa James and Morgan; Danny Samohin.

Photo from yesterday of Max on the ice at South Suburban Ice Arena in preparation for this year's Showtime on Ice:

That photo is enough to motivate me on a Wednesday!

:agree: Although Max's physique is incredible, what I like most is that the photo captured his striking gaze -- with his eyes channeling the devotion of his entire heart and soul to the sport that he loves.

^^^These are great photos. Wonder what program Max's bow tie costume was for. I was half expecting to see Snuggle Bullfighter! Looks like Starr has her "Pink Panther" get up on! She is the sweetest thing!

Just got home from today's matinee of Showtime on Ice in the Denver burbs. Max was adorable!

In the second half, Max skated the Beauty School Dropout number in Grease and wore the powder blue jacket with a bow tie. He skated with one of the pink ladies and was awesome in that number. It really suited him being the stud with the ladies. Also in the Grease number, they did a bit towards the end where the rink recognized its five graduating seniors. The girls skated a number in short caps and gowns, then lined up and Max presented them each with roses and a kiss on the hand. That was a very special moment. <3 He kept on the blue jacket for the entire second half. In the first half, he skated a guest-star number to a vocal piece sung by a male. I'm not familiar with his EX and if this could be it. When Ryan Bradley introduced him for that number, he described him as the skater with the tiny tight pants. Then at the end of the number, Ryan said, "How can you skate in those pants?" Max was wearing a smile during the entire show and seemed to be enjoying himself a lot. The hair (curl) was spot on! ;)

The show itself was awesome! We were very impressed with how good it was. This was it's 45th anniversary and they did bits of shows from the past - Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, and Grease. Ryan has a great presence but the back flip got to be very old. I think he did it 4 times. You can skate Ryan, do it. Starr honestly did not impress me. She skated great but did not project any personality. Several of the local skates had more of a presence on the ice IMO.

But Max really lit up the ice during the entire show, even pre-show when he was hanging out, and it was great seeing him smile so much. :)
