sally, during the whole thing!

Yes, definitely has to be big but those vacation houses, near lakes (don't ask me why near a lake, I have a fascination with the idea) can be nice and rustic, wood and stuff, so we can totally pull that off.
I am absolutely in favor about inviting them all. Also Gabby. But we have to store up on vodka. Big time. Nobody will remember a thing once it's done, though we all know Nobu would cry, but I am sure it'd be grand

Hydro, of course, doh!

This house sounds like paradise. I'm sure that fangirling with Nobu would be an otherwordly experience.

It depends, will Yuzu visit our lake house? If not then yes, i would have to learn to swim :slink:

We will teach you how to swim. Yuzu's presence probably not required for it to be a madhouse. But you never know!

It does, doesn't it?
Can you imagine Nobu and alcohol? Ah, we would all have so much fun.

And now finally off, hopefully to dream of our future house :bed:

Actually I was asking because... There might be other ways to cool off I'M SORRY
This thread would die, we would all be busy fangirling and speculating in the house. We could make a weekly subscription show about it to pay for our expenses and things like that... Live discussion, fangirling and costume critique/analysis...

Worlds EX Hungarian version with English subtitles is up

I think the woman commentator was infected by the male commentator's love for Yuzuru  At the end of the performance she was beginning to choke up (no wonder, I would have done the same after such an otherworldly gorgeous performance )

She still says some silly major mistakes, but she's always trying to stay positive which is very nice. This channel is relatively new and the commentators don't have much experience yet. I first heard the male commentator in December when a sports channel broadcasted Russian Nationals and he was the commentator. He's the first ever male commentator I heard here in my country. And that he's such a Yuzu fan makes me smile so much. It's such a surprise. I think they will broadcast Olys and Worlds next year, I'm sure it will be good.

Tracy getting more behind the boards work... good that everyone gets more used to her and other coaches being there at competitions. Next year will be so busy and stressful. I think Brian will be there, just not right away. If he wasn't going, you would think he would make more of his vacation time and stay longer in Bali... and, basically, it is in the same general region (vs being in Europe or N.A for example). I can't think of a competition of Yuzu's (since the move) where he hasn't been there?

Does this mean we get Tracy holding Pooh??

Only 3 more sleeps...

Aah thanks sally for the translations :D I really enjoyed the LP commentary too. It's hilarious how the male commentator was such a fan of Yuzu and said such amazing things, but at the same time the tone of the commentary is completely calm (or at least it sounds like it to me, not knowing the language ). I loved when he said it didn't matter whether or not you like his style, there is simply no point of contention how technically, artistically dominant that performance was :) Any idea who the male commentator is, his name?

David Wilson was with Yuzuru at Finlandia 2013. :) And as Yuzuru's FP choreographer, he also pointed out some choreographic detail that Yuzuru missed in that initial outing of R & J 2 (and the boobskirt ).

And yes, it will be lovely to see Tracy at the kiss and cry with Yuzuru and Team Japan. I love how animated she was at Worlds 2017, and how she and Brian exchanged knowing looks like VERY proud parents when Yuzuru's record FP score was announced. For sure, she has a large role in Yuzuru's success, being his skating skills coach at TCC.

My wish for Yuzuru this WTT is that he enjoys his programs since it's more likely the last time we'll see them (unless he keeps LGC) and I really want to watch Tracy on the boards, that would be so cool

I am going to miss Notte Stellata so much :sad4:

Lol guys, I just returned from my 9 days Japan trip and it's 200+ pages more than the time I left.
Failed to find any Yuzuru advertisement board while I was there :sad4: (my dream was to take a picture with a life-sized cardboard Yuzuru, was expecting ANA airline to put one in the airport, but alas, I'm not so lucky).

Some tidbit from Japan:
So I joined this free walking tour in Tokyo, then while we're walking to the next stop, I had a conversation with the local tour guide.
I asked her about Yuzuru Hanyu and how big he is in Japan.
At first, she was confused, like, who again... And I explained further, "you know, the figure skating athlete"...
Then when she heard skating she lit up, realizing what I meant, and said "Ahhh!! You mean Yuzuru!!" (apparently there's a specific way of pronouncing Yuzu's name in Japanese?? The way she said it is a bit different than the usual Yu-zu-ru)
She continued with twinkiling eyes "Yes, yesss, Yuzuru is very famous here... very, very famous (She literally emphasized the very, very part haha!). Everybody knows him and we usually called him Yuzu" (again, with the specific pronunciation).
She asked me whether I'm his fans and I said, yea, I really like his skating and actually he has a lot of fans from all over the world.
She seemed very happy hearing this.

That's all sadly, would like to ask more, but we arrived at the next stop already.

Anw, Did some random back tracking, gave up reading one by one lol... Interesting discussion on next season jumping layout.
Shall we play a prediction game for it? :rofl2:

For me, I would go with 5 quads, double quad and double 3A, just because he loves 3A so much. Then, he also mentioned his intention of doing 5 quads during World, just that he didn't have enough energy towards the end.
I say this is sort of a preview of what he's intending to do for next season already.
Layout prediction: 4Lz, 4S, 3F//4S-3T, 4Lo, 3A-2T, 3A-1Lo-3S, 4T

They do pronounce his name a little differently. When I was there in January I went to Waseda U and befriended some students (telling them how much I love his skating and that I knew he was a student there) and I think I've heard the Japanese way enough because they knew what I was saying. And when I speak Japanese I tend to pronounce things their way vs. when I'm speaking English. It's like a weird switch. But it was funny because their first comment was about his nice face  . I have first hand knowledge that he IS desirable at home (not that I have to convince any of you here). Usually for competitions in Japan you can hear how the announcer pronounces the names. Usually a pleasant female voice says "Hanyuu Yuzuru san. Nippon!" Other pronunciations drive me nuts, but his hasn't been too bad. Sometimes people can't determine the right stress if their lives depended on it. NAruto is NaRUto in the states sometimes. SAkura is SaKUra. Ugh. It's the worst. :curse: I remember the B.ESP guys butchering the hell out of poor Daisuke's name. It's so easy to me, I don't get how you mess it up!

But isn't is because of how his name is written in Kanji?

Actually i checked and it seems like the IPA lists tzu and zu as [d͡zɯᵝ] ~ [zɯᵝ] in standard japanese (South Touhoku, which if i'm not mistaken would be the way he pronounces it lists both as [d͡zɯᵝ])
I use tzu=[d͡zɯᵝ] and zu=[zɯᵝ] though...

Yep, it's a dialect thing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yotsugana. Some parts still distinguish them, so it's not really a right or wrong it seems. I feel like half the battle is making sure the stresses are right though.

I wonder if I can pronounce it correctly. If I'm not thinking about it, I default to the incorrect North American way with long, stretched out vowels (Yoo-zoo-roo). As far as I can tell, Japanese vowels are shorter. Sometimes I can hear the announcer voice in my head but it comes out of my mouth wrong anyway. I have to congratulate all of you who speak multiple languages for coping with these challenges!
