Lovely to see Yuzuru skating so beautifully though it stresses me out a bit when he's SO great in practice, can't help being worried he's not conserving his energy, I mean it's probably irrational stress though

I really want Wakaba at Olympics... It is going to be such a stressful season for the Japanese ladies :( Satoko and Mai are the skaters with the best record though, I guess GP results next season will be quite important

Well, if it makes you feel better, he botched his 4S3T combo in the runthrough and fell on 3A during practice :p

I guess only national champion has olympic spot guaranteed. Mai's 4CC win and Satoko's silver at GPF can be taken into account also.

I feel you. I'm trying my best to catch up too. But even with checking in on the thread every evening, it's proving to be very difficult [emoji23] Not to mention if you miss even just a few days of reading the thread
Yeah once a day is just not often enough - people would have to be here permanently if they wanted not to miss anything... and that is just not possible ><

This is where I confess I usually have this forum open at work in a separate tab so I can check it pretty often during the day. Heck, I'm currently traveling and checking through my phone.

For olympic spot, I doubt JSF will use anything but next season's result as a consideration. A skater's condition and shape can be really different one year apart. Tuktamysheva and Mao is an example.
This will apply for the men too. But since they have 3 spots and aside of Shoma there is really a big gap in skills and score potential, so those 2 should be guaranteed in.

What's with the weird falls on his 3As lately ? 4A??!! :slink:

Maybe? But it is not really anything worrying in my opinion, he fell on 3A quite a number of times. His 3A success rate is about 90% so out of 10 tries one will flop. As long as he lands them in competition, I would not worry much about his 3A fall on practice

As long as 3A behaves in competition, I'm not worried

This past weeks have been very, very busy (500 new pages in just three weeks?) so I know what you mean. :)
I usually have two tabs open, one for reading the past posts and one for the latest page(s), this is how I can keep up with both. It's really interesting to read all the opinions (whether it's good or bad...), articles, interviews, translations from the past. One sad thing is that posters come and ago, most users from the past are not active anymore.
Yeah - literally crazy^^

Whrn I am on my PC I do so too - but sometimes I can just access this forum on phone ><

Yeah that happens - I was quite active on some other forums before (some Kpop groups) and really active on one about asian series, but now I have visited it for the first time in a while and there is almost no one left from the group of people I used to chat with ><

If it is to be, I really hope he can give it a fitting sendoff with a clean performance. May the purpura braccas bless thee, Yuzu.

I am still at work :p It is a bit difficult though to view links to pics and videos since we have an open office layout.

I wonder if his LGC costume will end up on display somewhere sometime in the future. Or sold to the highest bidder

Yeah - when I open some "invisible" convo photos then I fear that someone might look over my shoulder [emoji14]

For me he's more androgynous than feminine, but even if he was feminine, I don't see why that should be a problem ? :scratch2:

People who think than men should always be "manly" don't deserve our time imho. Same for people who think female skaters should all be ice princesses.

I think that the complex, multi-dimensional way Yuzuru performs speak for himself and should be a focus point watching him. Labelling skaters regarding solely their physique AND putting it through personal convictions ('manly'/'feminine') is just plain wrong and uncalled for in my opinion - skaters are normal people too, born into certain genotype of body: some are very slim, some are little, some more 'bulky', some taller, but all of them hone their bodies to a state just optimal for them individually to skate, compete and achieve, not battling them to fit into certain image imposed, to all people's definition of 'perfect', 'manly' or 'feminine' (as it's impossible).

For me, I just don't feel confident and comfortable to assess other people, especially athletes regarding their appearances/body types. Body, facial expression, appearance are their 'tools' used to compete and behind that is a human being. I can e.g. tell if Yuzuru is handsome as a person, like I could say in relation to any other skater from my personal aesthetic point of view, but I'd never put such labels like 'manly' or 'feminine', especially regarding athletes as it has nothing to do with their competitive potential or skills presented.

 Luckily, I've only read the invisible convos while at home... Truth be told, I tend to save almost all those pics :scard7:

He may keep it for shows. LGC can be a great show program.
True, quite a number of other skaters have done programs that could fit as EX (Adam, Ashley, Javi, etc...). If Yuzu decide to make an EX out of it, I'm all for it. And I bet a lot of fans too (including with the Purple Pants of Sin (tm)).
