Yuzuru's jumps have been getting dodgy GOEs for a while now, classic score depression.

1) Since Misha will work at TCC I hope he will take care of Yuzu. His relationship with Javi is getting more tense because of Oly, Nam isn't there... I really think Yuzu needs a friend in Toronto, especially one who isn't his rival. I mean other than Pooh... :p

Wait, which Misha? Misha Ge, that Misha? And oh, when was that announced?

Late to the party, but can I marry his 4Lo?

So.......no one wants to marry his 4S-3T combination? :laugh2: You'll need quite a bit of couples counseling if you do, but it's not love if it doesn't hurt, right? *sob*

I just watched his SP and saw the results. It's ok Yuzu! Today was not your day but that's ok. Everyone has bad days and tomorrow is another day. The road to Pyeongchang is a marathon, not a sprint and it's important to know what doesn't work for you to figure out how to get to what does work. You said you wanted to understand how to enter that state of focus that you unconsciously fell into at 4CC LP and Worlds LP. This is your first step to understanding how you can get there :cheer: :cheer: Ganbatte Yuzu and good luck for the LP!

ETA: I forgot the most important thing! Yuzu please stay healthy!!

havn't seen them in here yet, so

My translation of his interview after SP (from Yahoo News):
--All my bad habits appeared. I think I had excessive feelings or put in too much thought. It's a team competition and so there were also feelings of nervousness. And tomorrow is the death anniversary of Prince and I had also intended to put in those feelings and be focused but..... I am really very sorry.
--I was not able to skate the SP well, even to the end like this. I want to get rid of this feeling of being bad at the SP and I will work on this over some time.
Q: After the performance, you looked up and moved your mouth.
-- I said 'sorry' (gomen nasai). I apologised. I had too much strange pressure inside me. But even then, I thought I could do it. So in that sense, I have not grown at all, I was thinking that.
Q: About the mistakes:
-- Regarding the failure of the (quad) loop, there is nothing that needs to be fixed for that. In terms of feeling, it is a jump that is jumped firmly, so if I jump firmly, it will be fine. (t/n. sorry, I'm not sure exactly what he means.)
I have also corrected the salchow and it has been stable. I think something like an awareness that (my SP) has been weak in competition came out too strongly.
Q: Your thoughts on the song?
-- I feel I am not qualified to talk about it right now. I am happy that I enjoyed this programme and I am very grateful to the choreographer, Jeffrey Buttle.
Q: Thoughts towards the FP?
--It's not a competition that's based on the total score for SP and FP. It's based on the placing by everyone, and tomorrow is tomorrow and I will give my best for that without being affected by today.
Q: After you made mistakes/had a failure, how to switch, how to keep the mental aspect?
--Feelings of frustration/regret will lead to growth. I think it's ok not to switch. It's precisely because of the feelings of regret that I can be excited/fired up about tomorrow.
(sorry if some parts are not well translated)
This fan said that she saw Yuzu walking to backstage looking very sad, so she called out from her seat to him "Yuzu kun, Free, do your best! Tomorrow, do your best!" Yuzu responded by holding up 1 hand and shouted "I will do my best tomorrow!" So she said there should be no problem tomorrow (≧▽≦)

And this fan saw this scene too. She said he held up his right hand in a fist and shouted back. She said it's the usual Yuzu, so she felt relaxed and cried. And she thanked the person who shouted out at Yuzu (。-人-。)(*´ー`*)

"It's just that I am frustrated. I'll do my best tomorrow. At the K&C, my teammates kindly said to me 'don't mind!', but it's not serving the interest of the team if I cannot execute my best. Of course, there is my own feeling of frustration, but this frustration is also for the sake of the team Japan. As I made that performance in the last competition [the Worlds], I think people will always expect me to execute that level of performance. In that sense, I would like to transform the pressure and the expectation [from others] to my strength." [twitter]

He's married to his jumps, no-one gets those but him. Of course, there're some problems there ... and I don't think if we've decided yet whether to marry him to the 4Lz now during off season or not. Preemptively. So that there's no out of wedlock hanky panky

I just caught up lmao

Guys if you are this depressed and worried about him for a competition like WTT, can't you imagine Olympics? :p

Anyway this is not the first time he bombed hard and frankly it will not be the last time he will bomb hard. I learned to live and accept that he is the type of skater who is awesomely, god-like good one day but might bomb hard the other days. People keep freaking out every single time he bombs his program, speculating if something is mentally/physically wrong with him. But I guess after watching him since his early senior years, that is just how he is. Think of him bombing today as his post GPF competition the previous seasons. He probably is just past his peak.

Strong athletes everywhere in the world dealt with defeats every single day, and pick themselves up back to training and winning again every single time. If you watch other sports you would know it is very rare to find an athlete in top + peak form every single time and winning everything. The stress and pressure of elite athletes are always immense, and Yuzuru is no different than them. This is not the first time he messes up and honestly I am sure he will mess up again on another day. But don't underestimate his mental strength, this is not his first rodeo. Just wish him health, because without that he can't do all of these demanding things he must do.

ETA : Anyway, I will not expect a stellar FS tomorrow. Unlike worlds/4CC there is not a one day rest to cool down and regroup, while today maybe both physically and mentally exhausting for him. I hope it will still be a decent performance though.

You are right, although I am not worried about him bombing, I am just worried if there is a nagging reason. If there isn't and it's just exhaustion (not that that's good either, but hey), I am 100% fine with it. I actually think it's better that he's not always perfect. And his kuyashiii faces are really cute. But not if he's actually feeling down. I really hope not.

Yes, Misha Ge. He will work with some skaters from TCC as choreographer :)

Really? I know he worked with Bet but they were at Plushy's academy for her SP. That's really nice news, thanks, they get along well and it's always great to have an extra friendly face, even if it is just on occasion.

Of course he is down. But when does he ever not feeling/looking down when he messes up that bad?
He has been like that since his younger days; and 1 OGM, 2 world and 4 gpf title + 11 WRs later, it will just escalate more because his own expectation on himself is getting bigger. But a good sportsman do not dwell on defeat and buried oneself in frustration, depression and self-doubt, they pick themselves up and train to overcome it, constantly. Losing is a part of sport one needs to endure and he has never shown that he did nothing less than that, if his past defeat at 2 WC is not a testament of it. ;)

I mean even before he skated :ohwell: Since we all know him looking so down at worlds in Boston before the LP (and all that intensity even before the SP) was because...there were other issues...I just really hope it isn't the case here.

He almost lost Worlds again this year. He seems more emotionally fragile than ever. And he appears to be ruminating nonstop about his skating (not good). So yeah, I'm concerned for him. It's not because of this one event; it's because of the patterns I'm seeing.

Today wasn't great but tomorrow is another day :ghug: I'm almost happy now that I will be working during men's FS :drama:
But I have something positive from today too: during monument ceremony I thought that his haircut was horrible but I've changed my mind
