Ladies will always attract more views in figure skating, there is a reason why ladies will end the FS at Olympic.

As a Yuzuru fan, I am realistic. Yes ISU and JSF need him to sell tickets right now. But it's not like he will stay forever, they will harp on the latest new ones to sell as much as they can and reasonably so.

I agree that many of fans will leave the sports once Yuzuru is out. But new ones will come through anime etc and other media. For example they're coming for Zhenia because she does Sailor Moon. So if Marin Honda or any new girls do something interesting to new fans, they will come. But will they stay is another matter.

Not that I care.

Totally my case! 2 min of Parisian Walkways, line, hook and sinker. :laugh: Completely aside from Yuzu, it'll be really intersting to see if there'll be anyone with quite the same impact at Pyeongchang. Or will it be Yuzu again? I can only hope, even if new fans would have a short time to enjoy his career.

I will probably go after he goes. Watching FS was really hard for me before him, and staying after he leaves will leave me with the sad feelings of not being able to skate+no more Yuzu. I don't think i wouldn't be able to get over that.

They will attract views on TV, but they will not attract the level of rabid obsession that drives people to fly thousands of miles to see a skater, I think. (Yes I know TV makes 452743095730982475298347x more money than butts in seats, but the level of fan obsession that surrounds everything about Yuzuru will not be surpassed in a while, I think.)

Most of the people at my rink don't even follow competitive skating like I do so the situation is even more dire than that.

I cannot see yuzu, ahem, r'ing, for any other reason than having achieved his goals or his ultimate performance... or for some physical issue. He simply loves competing and would just keep striving to improve in order to stay ahead if 'drama' caught up with him. He is so special that it is impossible to deny him on a good day so I think politicking against him will be hard pressed to really succeed, especially if his programs hit it out of the park from the start. This article and similar ones that will be written are all good reasons to stay in seclusion in Toronto during the summer and just keep working (although strategic pr moves won't hurt either).

Oh well I agree that if it's not for Yuzuru, I wouldn't have spent so much time, energy and money to study CoP and even sat in tech panel at the local competitions (and didn't get paid at all). I was just a casual fans who love pairs more than men and ladies cause pairs look more awesome by that time.

The thought of Yuzu r*ing after PC is honestly terrifying....lbr Javi and Chiddy are probably going to, so that's going to be a sad loss for men's skating as it is but imagine with Yuzu on top of that?! It's awkward bc Yuzu overlaps the ''generations'', given that those two were both at Vancouver too whereas he wasn't, so I hope he'll stick around for another cycle to try and fend off the young-uns or attempt the 4A

Haha, i need to update my collection, there's a lot of pics i haven't uploaded...
I didn't repent tbh. We just moved the invisible mode to another place where no one can find it :) but at least you weren't scared off by it haha
