Pretty sure from those photos Jason was on the North Shore, which given Oahu traffic, is not a quick jaunt to the airport...

I wonder if the US Oly "skater fluff" photos will still be taken tomorrow, or if it was just today? Even if tomorrow, it seems like a six hour flight and then a drive directly to the shoot.... Way too much travel for me, but this *is* Jason we're talking about

He is at the Turtle Bay Resort which is in the town of Kahuku on Oahu. :cool14: I'm so jealous. It used to be owned by Hyatt House, then it was a Hilton, now I don't know what it is! Lucky Jason, it's a beautiful area -- probably about an hour from the airport. 5 hour flight to LAX. :sad4: But now he has me thinking -- how about Nationals (in January!) or Worlds at Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu?! Our Asian and Australian friends could get there easily! :scard7: (Ok, one can dream)

Jason and Vincent have arrived for the NBC Olympics promotional shoot.

The overall shoot is scheduled to last for (IIRC) five days, and Thursday was only Day 3.
Plenty of time left for shooting with Jason and other skaters .

I thought the same thing at first too! Those feral chickens on Kauai are everywhere, and rule the roost But for some reason when I saw the cliff jump, I thought "North Shore".

Hawaii is a wonderful place, and I'm glad Jason and his family spent time there. :agree:

ETA: Worlds in Hawaii, what a great idea. But it would be far more convenient for our Asian or West Coast friends. As much as I liked it, 12 hours of air travel is not for me. I'm not an elite skater:disapp:

Thank you both for the heads up - interspectator did a stellar job and I'm eagerly looking forward to the next installment.

Glad to hear that he's continuing his vacation (in the Philippines!) after the photo shoot. That suggests to me he will be going to Frank later - maybe towards the end of May? And that they'll choreograph the FS before he goes. We learn the pony tail will stay - no surprise with Hamilton. So curious about the FS. I'm betting that like Riverdance it is going to be a blockbuster that takes him months to master an is designed to build and build and bring the audience to its feet. Some people aren't so high on Rohene but I think he's a master strategist.
