Nathan Chen

Nathan must be either training or working on programs or something with someone who's at Nam Nguyen's rink because Nathan showed up on Nam's snapchat story today. :) (I was just clicking through my feed and was like oh wait, what's Nathan doing!) It was just one video snap of Nathan, Nam and Roman and then a picture of them.
 
Oh good point - I forgot about his boot stuff! Not sure where Jackson Ultima is located (I think he mentioned meeting with them to order a bunch of boots in one of the SOI interviews he did?)

Is Nathan in Toronto for choreography? Since he is in the same rink as Zijun, I'm guessing the choreographer is Lori Nichol.

We'll see. Jason Brown was just in Toronto for boots, and he said other skaters also go there for boots in an Olympic year.

This funny clip is from Japanese TV, who followed some of the Japanese skaters to Colorado Springs for the recent jump camp. They were at one of the practice sessions and got video of Nathan completely whiffing a quad.

It looks like he was originally planning on doing a salchow but then changed it to a flip at the last moment.
 
Well, Nathan is back home, but he brought the boots guy back with him? Don't know to think about that. Was he in Canada for boots or choreography or both? Oh, and you can just call him "Nike" Chen now.

I'm going to assume Nike sent over a bunch of gear for him to wear and asked him to wear it often for social media. I seriously doubt we'll see his trademark Adidas gear anymore.

^^But he needs 12 more in addition to these. Definitely overkill, but better to be prepared for the Olympic season. :laugh:
 
If he starts running low around Skate America then Toronto is a short hop away from Lake Placid.

Hahaha, steps into reverse walley, immediate counter turn to double axel with arms continuously folded throughout entrance and exit then fouette to fan kick out. INSANE difficulty, I love this kid. When did he get his triple lutz? This must have been one of his first in competition.

And I feel like I recognize the music. Is it Hungarian Rhapsody?...Pretty amazing, given his age!

Thank you! I know I have the piano music but was too lazy to look through my mountain of music to find the title. Big music for such a little guy, but he did a great job, didn't he?!
