We will know her early condition soon by the time of Japan Open. I don't have high hope for her though.During the 2010-2011 season, Gracie placed 6th at sectionals and as a result, did not make nationals. She was so determined to make nationals the following season that she won her only jgp assignment, nationals, and earned a silver at junior worlds. Even thought this past season has been more drastic, I can't help but draw parallels from the two seasons. I hope not making worlds will be enough motivation for her for the olympics, just as not making nationals did for her.

time to whip out the warhorses again.
Although I'd like to see her expand her music choices a bit, at least she is sticking to a style she does well.
I miss this Gracie that attacked her jumps with abandon and had huge speed across the ice. That is why people were so high on her at the time. She looked Junior with her programs and was unpolished but her speed jumps and skating skills were already better then 90% of the top US Ladies at the time and she probably would have finished in the top 3 or 4 that year if she had skated as a Senior just because of her technical ability.I agree, and it could be great. IMO, what Gracie needs is to get her jumps back. Some of her early programs featured music I simply couldn't stand. However, her big jumps were enough to get her into the top 3 no matter what music she skated to. This "Dance of the sugar plum fairy" SP would have been a disaster without Gracie and her big jumps. :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YC8_cAgdoE8

I just saw a clip of Courtney Hicks from Skate Detroit. Can anyone tell me if her opening Combo is a planned 3/3. She popped the second jump here but, the rest of her program was quite good. Her spins have really improved and she much softer quality about her this year..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMl8ubMvStQ
Appalling.
Well, as a young skater, she has really taking a risky path going into next season. Especially with Carmen...Has her team forgotten the battle of the Carmen's? Both of those choices are very unoriginal and with her youth and talent, I wish she had gone with music that she could make "Her Own." It will be unavoidable for her to escape being compared to the vast number of skaters to use Carmen. I hope that made sense.....

Well Mirai Nagasu did Carmen for her FS on her debut on the Olympics and she did well.

It was uninspired and cliché then.
It's even more uninspired and cliché now.
