Seriously.....When I was watching that interview with Tom, I kept expecting him to tell more about how Max is training, and how he's looking and feeling going into what will be final shot at the Olympics. Maybe Max is choosing to stay under the radar but, I am both excited and nervous knowing that Vincent and Nathan have looked good all summer.

I am so glad for you! And, I'm a little jealous, truth be told.

So, you'll be giving us a report, too? I'll be lenient on grading, I promise, dear friend!

Try to stop me from posting about it! But I will need that promise of leniency, Tonto my friend. I cannot tell a flip from a flutz from a double cheeseburger.

I will however know if Vincent is doing amazeballs jumps, and if he is, I will give him props. And of course Andrew T. will have my full attention (as I silently mutter "lose the gloves")
I am exceedingly curious to know what Max's costume and music is, so that I can definitely do. Well, if I recognize the music. So let's hope it's Firebird:biggrin: (Although maybe we might get an interview before then?? Maybe???) And Timmy's spins. And Jordan's lyricism.

And oh dear heavens, Sean doing Tequila? I can't believe he's going cross country after Glacier Falls...

And if Larry Loupolover still looks like Jason's Armenian doppelganger;)

You can always shazam it. Though I guess then you couldn't video at the same time. Hmmm...

I just pulled the Philly International announcement. There is no mention regarding visitor tickets so my guess is it is a free event.

COMPETITION VENUE
All practice and competition will take place at the IceWorks Skating Complex in Aston, Pennsylvania. This complex features four indoor ice-rinks. Three rinks are 85’ X 200’ and the Olympic rink is 100’X 200’. The competition will be on the Olympic rink. The venue features a large café area overlooking the surfaces of Rink 1 and Rink 2 and a Pub and Grille overlooking the surfaces of Rink 3 and Rink 4.

Enjoy your trip -- sounds like a great lineup! Little correction: Larry Loupolover skates for Azerbaijan.

Oops:o: Thank you; knew I was typing too fast. But I do hope Larry is still rocking an old-style Jason pony:biggrin:

No worries! :) About the ponytail: Yeah me, too. I first noticed Larry a few years ago--at Euros, I think. Found him an interesting character, which is why I think the Azerbaijan part stuck in my head. I would love to see all the skaters you mentioned! One of the most intriguing on your list is Jordan Moeller. I really enjoyed his skating at Nationals year and am really rooting for him to continue his comeback from injury.

UMBSGoBlue has has posted Glacier Falls videos on their YouTube channel  including Ross Miner, Jason Brown, Grant Hochstein, and Sean Rabbitt.

You guys...I think I really want Sean on the Olympic team.

Stranger things have happened and he would certainly be a crowd pleaser. I do think Sean has a shot for a 4CC spot (i.e. 6th place or up)

I think my U.S. men odds for the Olympic team remain the same for now.

Holy Cow Karen Chen!!!!!!!!! Spectacular.......I was worried that using Yuna's old music would backfire but, WOW!!!!

I just watched Polina and she is still out of "competitive" shape. She has never been the fastest skater but she is noticeably slower and had trouble on her jumping passes. Hopefully she will improve as the season go on.

GO KAREN! :cheer:

I know many people associate that music with Yuna, but so many others have skated to it as well, and done spectacular jobs with it and I see that Karen is no different. :yay:

I don't know if Sean's jumps will get him on the US Podium but, he sure is a strong performer......I think he will be a crowd favorite this year.

I called it in the "program" thread when Sean announced his SP: my life would not be complete until I saw Sean Rabbitt skate to Tequila:hap10:

If he sticks with coming to Philly, I will be one happy gal. That said, as much as I love a crowd pleaser, forget the jumps, I don't see Sean's spins and skating skills putting him in the mix. But hey, stranger things have happened;)

ETA: I did not read Mrs. P's post where she used essentially the same phrase before I posted. Great minds and all that:biggrin:

I just watched Jason Brown....I don't what else to say about him. He has to learn to learn how to land his quad in the SP....If he doesn't, I fear he will be so far back in the pack that even a strong LP will not get him on the Olympic Team.

Again, a summer competition is not always a predictor of what will happen this season. And don't worry, I'm sure Jason got the memo that he needs to learn to land his quad in his SP.

Why do they throw it this early? I just watched Grant, Ross, and the very fun Sean Rabbit. I didn't see a clean quad from any of them. It's so early that maybe it would be best for the judges to see a clean program especially from a component standpoint. I realize it's early but, I wonder what the judges would prefer....

Because they want to get used to doing it in competition. Chances are their hit rate is good enough in practice to attempt
it in competition.

I'm looking forward to a video of his LP. I absolutely loved an earlier clip of run-through that someone posted.

This SP performance confirmed by earlier sense of indifference/dislike. Not a fan, and it has nothing to do with the fall on the quad.
