Alina Zagitova

Gutted that they didn't give Alina a new program..Its Olympic season she should have a brand new program..it makes it less exciting to see a reused program no matter how good it is..

Well, I agree, but this program is the best option. Minkus's music in the Olympic season - it's very good, and it suits Alina very well. It hard to create something different with all jumps in the second half of the program. They updeted this program, added some new elements, and now this program looks very nice. This is just the first impression after average quallity video and bad camerawork. And this is only the beginning of the season. At GP stages Alina will shine.

I also noticed improvements in Alina's combo 3Lz-3Lo. It was really incredible. At Lombardia I was impressed by this Alina's combo and Wakaba's 2A.

My main concern is many people have seen this program too many times before they kinda have an idea already what's the program..Alina technically is superb it should be easy to find her a new LP cos the girl could jump anywhere..if they can make a brand new program for Evgenia why cant they do the same to Alina..Both have bigger chances to make it to Olympics why not give them 2 brand new programs to make the fight fair..

Because it's Alina's first season in senors and she will be more nervous. They decided to stay with her previous program to make her feel more confident and less nervous obviously. Stop with useless conspiracy theories already.
 
Congratulations to Alina to winning her first senior event! :hap10:

And after Daniil's words I'm sure that we will see a clean 2A next time. Now that she has experience she will be less nervous.

Im not thinking any conspiracy theories at all it just seems odd to keep the old program when she had best performed it already..I would understand if she hasn't maximized it last season but if making her confident was the reason they kept it then I think its good for Alina..

We see many top skaters go back to their old programs and she's only 15. This is very special season. They had to keep her consistency and they made a good choice.

it's just an excuse for not giving alina a new program. and when alina saying this she's obviously repeating what the coaches told her. i just can't understand why she should be nervous with the same layout and a new choreography.
shcherbakova and trusova had a great programs last season and i was thinking that they keep the programs with a changed layout for their international debut, since no one watching russian juniors competitions anyway. but no. they came up with a new programs, and at least sasha's programs are great again, looks like daniil doesn't worry at all about sasha's nerves.
but keeping zagitova's and panenkova's programs (which were not so great to begin with) is crucial.

Maybe this program will bring her good luck :pray:
I don't think the judges will give her less points because she's repeating the program.

What I don't like is her dress for the short program. I wish she would change it. I think the program would have a real impact if the dress would be different.

they are not fighing for olimpic spot. And they can afford any mistakes.. Alina can't afford it.. It's Olympic season.
and last year she was struggling with her LP till RN.
Just one new SP.. and Alina already did mistakes. She need to be confident about program. It's not a easy task.
It's difficult.
 
It's not surprising that they would repeat her LP since it's practically impossible to create another program that is that backloaded and has so many jumps on musical accents.

Sherbakova and Trusova don't have a chance to go to OG this season. Alina's FS was very good already and now it even looks more mature. Judges liked her program a lot so I don't see where is a problem.
Every skater is different. You can see that she was more nervous during her SP. I think their decision proves itself already, isn't it? The main goal is to make it to the OG with minimum pressure and nerves. Again she's still very young.

I think the problem was with lighting and camera. There all things were white. Such a gorgeous dress just lost some beauty on that white background. I'm sure at GP stages it will look much better.

yeah, they just can afford a mediocre program for olympic season, instead of giving to alina something really great

It's your own opinion. I think it's a very strong and beautiful program and stands out.
