Jason Brown

Thanks to ice coverage for the heads up, but Jason's going to be part of a press conference during the USOC's Media Summit a week from now and it will be live streamed.

He'll be there with Ashley Wagner, Karen Chen, Mirai Nagasu, Mariah Bell, Nathan Chen, Adam Rippon and the Shibutanis. According to the schedule it's from 3:45-5:15 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25, which I'm guessing is local time (which is Mountain Daylight Time, IIRC in Park City, Utah?). I don't expect anything earth shattering, but something between now and Skate Canada (and maybe a YouTube video will come out of it...)

Thanks, Mrs. P.

Nathan Chen and Mariah Bell also are included in the same presser. :)

Quirky bits from Jason's part of the media guide for the summit:

Hidden talent: I am an excellent Heads Up player. I also can juggle and am a decent gymnast.

Something quirky: I starred as Conrad Birdie in Bye Bye Birdie in junior high school.

Wheeeeeeeeee! Adorable Jason interview coming up! I love these.

(Now please excuse me while I go bang my head against a wall upon seeing the rest of the lineup. HOW THE HECK IS RIPPON GETTING INVITES TO THESE THINGS AND NOT MAX)

wow I knew he was a very good tumbler and gymnast and I knew about the role he played as Conrad birdie. but I did not know about his hidden talent as a juggler wow we learn something new every day. and I think I read somewhere that he playes piano as well that probably helps with his musical timing on the ice while he skates. wow I wonder what else our skating champ can do .:agree::hap10:

Don't forget Head's Up! I love that game.

OK, I know Google is my friend, but I don't feel like it....

what is "Head's Up"? Does it require a positive outlook, which may be why I don't know it?

Sorry I had been totally distracted while I was in Bergamo... belatedly here is the photo album of Jason! All the action shots are thanks to Cristiano my dutiful partner!!
LP practice run-through (There was a little hic-up at the start, not sure what exactly happened but his "Sorry!" is priceless!)
SP Too bad the public seating was only on one side of the rink and the judges were seated on the opposing side, so we only got to see the performances from "behind"... :scowl:

Hello. May be somebody helps me with music of free skate? It's beautiful peace of art and Jason are so delightful in this program.

Jason's free skate music ("Inner Love") was composed especially for him this year by French composer Maxime Rodriguez.

Thanks for these! The FS run through is pretty revealing. You can see that he originally planned a 4S (popped), that the choreo is quite a bit different than what he actually performed in competition, and that he's far more comfortable with this version - his movement has a flow and beauty that was a bit lacking in competition. I'm concerned, though, because you can see that he was having trouble with a lot of his jumps, not just the quad. I keep remembering NHK, and really hope it was jet lag or the flu affecting him and not injury. :slink:

I do think it was a stamina/being under the weather, cause the jumps themselves other than the landings looked okay and obviously this was before the FS where he did pretty good.

The 4T,4S,3A in that succession doesn't have a ton of room or forgiveness. This program won't be perfect for a while.

Anyway, he has a few weeks; I think it's clear why another senior B in Europe might not be to his benefit.

I noticed you were Missing In Action and figured it was very easy to become totally overwhelmed by this amazing competition. I'm sure you wanted to just drink it all in! And the fancams are precious because you can feel the excitement of the audience, as opposed to the livestream where the audience is muted. Jason's "sorry" is hilarious! Your photos take my breath away and also make me wonder if I'll ever have the nerve to post my crummy, fuzzy photos again...Thank you for your efforts. If you have any thoughts from the Shominettes, we would love to hear them in his fan fest. One question for you, would you say the audience was mostly Italian, or could you get a feel for if there were fans from many countries?...Thanks again. :thank:

al great photos and information thanks for sharing. its kind of hard on some people who cant be at every event too see their skaters compete all the time.thank you.:thank::hap10:

Yeah sorry about going MIA, I am just so rubbish with handling smartphones, not to mention multi-tasking. I posted a few photos on facebook but that was about all I could do!!! The event was overwhelmed by the Japanese invasion, be it fans or the media. While the Italian press was practically non existent, there was an army of Japanese photographers, reporters and what not, there were also several Italian TV crew hired by the Japanese following ONLY Shoma's moves. I noticed a few people from other countries (non Japan), but not in a significant number. But the turnout seemed much larger than last year, I am actually surprised for the ridiculous price they charged!
Jason looked really good and in form, his 3As are mostly solid. Quads were... uhm, I must say the situation hasn't changed much from 2 years ago observing the practices. It makes me really mad, while he has so many qualities which mostly no one can match, they are not appreciated enough in today's scoring system and he has to kill himself for the quads that wouldn't come to him. Well, I won't go further into this discussion because I would just sound like a bitter whiner, but... really...
You guys can also check out this album which I posted on my personal timeline (mostly Jason & Deniss), I added some side stories as captions in many of the photos.
And here is the video of his Long program!

You are a hoot! I hope I get to meet you some day!

Oh, now I am :o::o::o:

But now we need a Star Trek transporter so we can *all* watch Jason and meet up at the same comp:thumbsup:They will know us by our exceeding good taste in skaters:)
