Miyahara was actually supposed to be here, but she withdrew right before the official assignments were posted (I think the reason was that she was still dealing with her injury?). Not sure about the others though.

Ashley never goes to Challengers, so tactic for her. As randomfan said, Satoko was supposed to compete here, but felt she needed more time after the injury. Anna didn't perform at the open Test Skates because of an injury, but that was supposed to be a very minor thing, so could just be tactics.

Maybe one of the substitutes will replace them?

I was wondering about that as well. Seems odd to WD from the grand prix but not this... likely just a clerical no one caring type issue.

Maybe they were waiting for confirmation of whether or not Andrei Lazukin will sub for him. Dima was still on the entry list for Ondrej Nepela until a couple days before the competition when his name was removed & Sergei was added instead.

Kovtun has been removed from the list of entries and Lazukin has indeed replaced him...
