Oh good grief...can you not jump to such conclusions before she has even had a chance to explain why she withdrew? Injuries happen all the time. Anna is not Yulia or Gracie, she is her own person, and the hand-wringing is frankly a little over the top.

According to comments on Mikhail Sharov's Instagram, some people are saying Anna hurt her back at practice. I certainly hope it's not serious. But enough with the doom and gloom and projecting all kinds of issues onto her. I love Anna but I don't even want to visit her fanfest these days.
 
Konstantinova again reminded to me why I started to hate her skating. Her SP was awesome, but in the FP 80% of time she is skating with body in horizontal position, or inclined or I don't know how to call this. It looks very ugly. Also she is overscored. Again.

I enjoyed Gulyakova's skating. She was robbed. Her skating is so fast, so nice. Also Nastya's jumps and combos are amazing. Solid and perfect. Incredible. Sadly, her video is the only one has bad quality 360p. And it's funny, because she skated better than others.

Gulyakova is a real winner here.

Also I would like to mention Alina Solovyeva. She can't jump, but her skating is beautiful.

last season she had 3Lz-3T-2T and 3Lz-3T in the free. i guess, it's the same layout for this season. i think that she missed 3Lz-3T-2T, but added both toes later to 2A's

yes and Konstantinova lands her jumps with her body tilted forward everytime..
 
So, if everyone from the GP (9) and all the JGP finalists (5) skate in Senior Nationals, there are only four spots left for everyone else. That's insane. Gulyakova is probably already in with 1+3, Gubanova and Konstantinova have one event with 2nd and 1st place respectively, a very good chance. Fedichkina is yet to try. Sakhanovich with her 4th place stands a high chance of not making it to Nationals. Not to mention any of the lesser-known skaters. Mikhailova got really lucky with that host spot. Nugumanova isn't even trying for Senior Nationals.

They should introduce a rule where only those JGP finalists who are senior-eligible next season are allowed to skate in Nationals. Tarakanova, Trusova and Kostornaya can shine in Junior Nationals and leave Senior Nationals to actual Seniors (maybe they'll be persuaded to do just that). Before it was never a problem as there were never as many top Juniors.
 
konstantinova, with her sexy programs and speed skating's posture, reminds me of eunsoo lim. no wonder that tars was thrilled with her yesterday. she skates with deeper edges than eunsoo, though

Bad posture maybe? Something about her skating really distracts me, too. After long time trying to figure out, I think maybe her posture is a little bent due to the fact that her legs are shorter comparing to her upper body. We shouldn't criticize her for her natural body type, though. I try to see the good qualities of her skating. Certainly there are a lot of them!

And I still can't get over the fact that she competed in JGP instead of senior GP. Dear coach of Stanislava, or whoever responsible for this girl to compete in JGP instead of senior GP, what were you thinking?

Seriously, she may not be the most consistent skater but when she skates well, she is pretty much capable of competing with international senior field, maybe more than the junior field. She should get a senior GP from the beginning and try to chase her chances for the olympic team! And in the end it only caused Guliakova to lose the chance to be in the JGPF.

Anyway, congratulations to Stanislava for making a good impact after not so successful JGP showing. I don’t know if it’s because of the music, but I really like her FS. I simply love every program skated to Anna Karenina!

Konstantinova is always overscored, I don't know what the Federation is thinking, she's not even consistent. Look how junior worlds turned out. sigh
 
I just can't watch Konstantinova's skating
in the FS 60% of time she is skating with body in horizontal position. lends ALL of her jumps with her body forward everytime...
it's just hard to watch....
I think she has better posture in SP.... I even like her SP .... not hands... but she was on fire.

I think Gulyakova should have won - really underscored her in PCS, but without her SP mistake she would clearly won, still a bronze puts her in contention to compete at russian nationals.
 
Ah, I usually skip Konstantinova's skates as well. She just does absolutely nothing for me. To me she's certainly a second or third tier skater when it comes to Russians. As a second-year senior eligible skater, I don't even know why she skates in JGP and takes the spots of far more talented skaters with significantly more promising futures ahead of them. In my eyes, Russia doesn't have the slots for that.

she won the russian cup with 67.68 FS PCS, Gulyakova with 62.88 PCS while skating clean. :shrug:

Anna Pogo pulled out due to what seems to be a minor back injury -- she's just taking care of herself so she can perform properly in the GP. After the SP, i thought it was pretty clear she's still on the mend from whatever kept her from skating in the test skates. I'm tired of the doom and gloom as well -- Anna isn't out for the count yet, and people who like her should stay as positive as possible for her! I think she still has a shot at the olympic team if she recovers well from her injury, so let's just hope for the best!
 
Stop this bad thinking about anna ... In pairs, men, dance even in ladies ... all of them have programs that didn't work out ...

So if she skip the LP ... Is better protect her back now than do agravate and injury ... pain killer can give you a false sense of relieve a push a injury ( but I'm really sad because I'm selfish and I want to see her LP ) ...
and I hate the "persecution" that people give anna after the world 2017 ... I think if you see her sneeze, you would say that she is almost dead of a terrible infection...
Yes she had a breakdown, so what? If you are good at your job, and in the last interview or test you screw everything after a great work in the last year... I would have too ... It is russia ... osmond, daleman, the american and japonese skaters, they are protected by their federation, they can fall and fall and don't fight with other girls to every spot... try to put them in a russian championship and we will see

I concur! And I am a bit fed up of the other posters who have slagged off Stasya here- fgs, she is a young girl, trying to get somewhere in a fiercely competitive sport. Why try to hinder her progress, and as for insulting her body type, come on, very unkind!
