Yes, we may all be members of the Way Too Emotionally Invested Club. :luv17: Me included. But it's hard to not love that picture. Even then, he had those intense, beautiful eyes!

I would say Shoma is a favorite to win (according to the GS prediction thread last time I looked) but as us skating fans know anything can happen
and Patrick always shines at SC, he is one of the skaters that I admire, so if he wins I can't get to upset. Of course Shoma being my favorite
I want him to do his best and get that Gold Medal!
 
I think it's not a guaranteed win. What I've seen of Patrick's programs really impressed me, he's come such a long way. I imagine PCS will be huge this time. And then it depends if we get to see 'Lombardia Shoma' or 'Japan Open Shoma'. At least in the short I expect them to be close together. Perhaps Shoma can win the long. It wouldn't upset me if he loses here, I just want him on the podium, because GPF!!! A hometown GPF without Shoma would be a sad, sad business! Shoma is usually pretty fit at this point in the season. He did Skate America the last two season, the first GP and won his first GP last season. So....I think the chances are pretty good for our dear ShoSho!
 
If there's a man in this business I trust not to pop anything, it's Shoma. :laugh: I'm sure Shoma will skate well here and very likely win, since he has a BV advantage. Wishing both him and Patrick good luck, though, and I hope for a great competition I'll be staying awake at 1am for (SC men's schedules are actually much better for me than ACI or US Classic were).

Yes, I'm going. And I'm already in my panic stage of "Can I be ready by tomorrow?!" Some things never change! :laugh: I've been practicing my cheering and will try to control myself! :hap10: :hap10:

Yes, anything can happen! Still remember Worlds where Virtue and Moir were as sure as sure could be to be the gold medalists. Who would have EVER thought that always-sure-footed Scott would stumble during the FD. The entire audience collectively gasped in disbelief! Why does ice have to be slippery?! (ETA -- They still took the gold, but it was REALLY close!)

I hope you're still throwing him undies, Arriba! Just because, that would be so fun, and unique too! Imagine if he wore them and did an Instatory wearing it, like Wakaba did with Verit's penguin socks. At least the elastic band part, anyway.

I am glad that Skate Canada men's event is Asian-friendly time-wise. Saturday 8am start for SP and Sunday 7am start for FS.

thanks a lot, 4everchan:):ghug:, after a long sleep, Aspirin and few hot teas with ginger, honey and lemon I feel much better - I had to as there are so many personal faves of mine competing at SC, Shoma included.

personally, my only wish for Shoma is to have a competition he'll be pleased with, regardless of scores. I hope to see his programs to grow and memorable performances

Sorry you wont be able to watch the SP Latremu you will have to catch up with the videos.

From Shoma's interview: "when I simplify the program I face a different kind of mental strain, when I challenge myself, it takes the pressure off."

So does that mean we are going to see Shomita's full arsenal of quads?

I think he said they took out the Salchow somewhere. Let's see.
