Ahhhhh what a lovely smile at the end of his skate. Can't wait to see how this program develops as he gets more comfortable with the layout and can really hone in on the expression.
 
I love the chat. One comment says "my precious burnt chicken". Because while waiting for shoma, someone brought up his dead/ burned chicken costume. 😂
He got 301 total score!!!
 
Nice job overall in the FS - even though some of the jumps were nerve-wrecking. But he proved that he didn't crumble after making tiny mistakes.

Did anyone else notice that Shoma's speed across the ice and in his spins were greatly improved? NBC's Olympic Channel's coverage said that Shoma said that he wants to emulate Patrick Chan in his presentation - that's certainly a great standard to strive for. :yes:
 
Congratulations ShoSho!!!! You WON Skate Canada. You got over 300!!!!! That's awesome. And I'm secretely kind of glad you didn't do soooo well, because I think this is needed for your mental state. ;) Now use that lipbalm, wear Arriba's CK's and win in France!!! GO!

Wait, so Arriba really did throw the undies? How could I miss this? Unbelievable. Arriba is the most amazing.

That wasn't a satisfying one but you know what's so important? He smiled in the middle of performance! A while before his cantilever. That brought me joy, made me smile too!
 
Yes yes YES Shomachka Congrats on your victory in Skate Canada! And I agree with MaiKatze that Shomachka wasn't perfect here is good because we are gonna save that for the Olympics and he should not push himself to 100% every time. Good strategy to take out the 4S and I am fine with the current layout.

I must say that I like this Turandot more (aka Blurandot) because the music is more expressive and the tension of the music builds more smoothly, and it did not end with an overly dramatic dramatic finale. More like a Shizuka-Turandot approach, which I think it highlights Shoma's fluid skating and his developed maturity this season. Overall a very beautifully carved and skated program. Congrats again Shoma!!!
 
Congrats to Shoma! I could not watch live as I had my college reunion to attend but I was checking the results. So happy!

There were seats in the area in back of where Fluffy was standing at the boards. I just HAPPENED to go and sit there. Lots of good views of the two of them talking, etc.

Don't know why I waited until today to sit in this section for practice! I should have done it Thursday and Friday. You could get pretty close to everyone, and sometimes you could even hear the conversations between the coaches and skaters. It was a lot of fun...Sounds like people are saying this event was a dud. I had a wonderful time myself!
