Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

4 years ago their first coc: I was done with skating especially with ice dance ( thanks to OG and WC 2014) but I was curious about c/l vs s/s. The Italians were world champions and the shibs were USA number 1 team so I wanted to see which team had won. I didn't watch the sd or the free just the result page. I was in shock when I saw who had won!!! How can the young Wookid French team beat the world champion and the shibs ? It was unbelievable so I watch the free dance and I fall again for ice dance. Now 4 years later they are gold medal contenders! Despite what some people think they deserve to be with v/m. I love both the short and the free so I'm immune to all the critics and haters. I just want to enjoy this season.

Actually, it was only 3 years ago in 2014 which is unbelievable considering what they have achieved in such a short time. 3 years ago, they were on absolutely no one's radar, at least to reach the level they've reached. I don't remember how I stumbled upon the CoC ice dance competition, but it has completely changed my involvement in skating from a very casual lurker to an involved one. Anyway, I'm getting nervous hopefully they're not too much.

Also, from this fancam angle, we can clearly see how during the 1st and especially 2nd twizzle set they skate so close to each other, that's crazy :eeking:

They don't deserve to be with V/M at all. They deserve to be way above. Hopefully the scores reflect that at COC. And if not there, definitely in France. Two new WR at least.

And besides, P/C do have sexual chemistry between each other. Have people forgotten about the Mozart FD already? They may not have as much as H/D, but they definitely have as much, if not more than, V/M!

And I forgot to add the new Shape of You SD! Sexual chemistry between P/C galore!!

Same here !
I remember a tweet from Nathalie Pechalat congratulating them for the win (she was on the french DWTS at the time) and I was like : Whaaat ?! It's been the ride ever since.
The twizzles look amazing. You see how close they are, I see how fast they are and the ice coverage :thumbsup:
Wishing them the best tomorrow. Don't think too much and have fun !

Looks like someone changed this mind about p/c :https://mobile.twitter.com/icenetwork/status/925845137330180098/video/1 Better late than never kurt.

Kurt's wife (ballet dancer Sonia Rodriguez) has always preferred P/C over V/M, and Kurt started saying last year he didn't get it at first, but the more she pointed out the differences, the more he got it. Now Kurt's a full-on uber like the rest of us. Sometimes it takes a person who really understands dance to show others what's right.

Anyway, I'm getting nervous hopefully they're not too much.

It's silly but I'm stressed too. I hope so much that everything goes well for them and that the notes are up to their expectations.
I watched ice dancing from time to time, at the big championships, that's all. I did not get up at night to watch a competition. I had never written on a forum. It was 3 years ago:laugh:. One morning in November 2014, I accidentally watched on TV the free program of the Cup of China (I still remember).OMG.:luv17: I had never heard of Gabriella and Guillaume. And there,I saw the definition of beauty in dance in 4 minutes. I was sincerely touched by their emotion . Ice dancing was more than a sport with acrobatics.
I quickly became addict:laugh: ... I was scared at the end of the 2014-1015 season that they would never do better, I was wrong.

That was great! Happy about the score too. All in all worth waking up early for, haha...I kid, I kid, they always are ;).

Loved the lift this time around, well integrated into the program and right on the music. The whole thing just faster and tighter than at finlandia, except perhaps on the pattern where I thought they have a bit more room to do better. As exciting as them finally breaking 80 is, I'm mostly ecstatic about that TES -- they are most definitely competitive, even in the short.

edit: The hunt for that elusive level 4 on the non-touching step sequence begins again this season...

Wow! Amazing skate! great score! really hope they get a level four on a step sequence in the free with a clean skate........ (they got a level four of the partial step here; only the Non-touching was 3)

I wasn't able to watch live, and just got home and... HOLY COW! What a great outing with the SD! So, so happy for them, the TES is a brilliant news and the whole programme looks more polished than at Finlandia, they were attacking all the way through. Incredible!

i can breathe now. i was worried cause COC usually don't give high score especially in ice dance (like C/B score today) so when i saw that this year they had coc and not nhk i was worried . 81 in china!:yahoo:

Wow! What a score! So many things to point out - their improvement overall and since Finlandia Trophy, finally getting more than 80 points in the short + its timing, that couldn't have been better, Gabi's ponytail... :luv17: I love it and when I think how it will look like by the time of Grand Prix final, I get chills. :)
