I read somewhere that Frank Caroll was $100??
he's about $55 dollars per 20 mins which is low for his expertise level.

erm...I'm aware.![]()
I'm sorry she's hurt, but the spectacle of WDing halfway through a program was ridiculous imo. Either WD before the long, or skate through. The drama is getting old.
I think ideally she should have WD before the long program in this case, but I can't really take issue with her WD in the middle of a program, either. Remember Lipnitskaya's horrible FS when she hurt herself in the middle of her program, then insisted on finishing it injured (falling a few more times), and retired shortly thereafter? I think the consensus there was that her coach should have stopped her and not let her continue. So I can't then blame Ashley for thinking she could do it, and then stopping when she realized it was a bad idea.
oh then $110 for a section? Same as Brian Orser as he mentioned sometimes ago when he coached Yuna.he's about $55 dollars per 20 mins which is low for his expertise level.

Cut the woman some slack
I think at that point it just hurt too much she had to stop. :sad4:I think ideally she should have WD before the long program in this case, but I can't really take issue with her WD in the middle of a program, either. I always took Ashley's "talking a good game" as the run-of-the-mill positive reinforcement stuff that most athletes say. You hear it from boxers, wrestlers and other participants in individual sports. In fact the only time I remember not hearing this type of talk is with Gracie after Worlds, which was jarring, and now we know she was dealing with a lot of issues at the time.
It's fine to be frustrated with her performance and/or perceived lack of progress, but I think some of you are putting way too much stock in these sound bites.
a practice session, sorry auto correct.A section?!?!

I completely don't blame ashley for WDing for her health (especially remembering Julia)... but I also don't understand why she skated in the first place. Idk, I just think it's a really bad look, especially after Bradie skated so well. It just always something.
Everyone needs to take into account that Ashley's leg was feeling ok for her to skate on and she was doing well with it until pre LP warm up.
So saying she's constantly making excuses or should have pulled out all together before the event is not making anyone's comments better than the trash that Tara and Johnny spewed about her on air today that everyone's complaining about.
Ashley did what she had to do in a split second decision to protect her health and her future in this sport in her run for the Olympics.
Cut the woman some slack.

It depends how one is looking; with a dirty eye everything seems to be dirty.
Before the competition started, she was advised to skip it. Today during her run through, she did no jumps.
By whom? Bradie is the first US female skater in a long time that made me saw wow. I look forward to seeing more of her. The hunt for the Olympic team for the ladies looks to be very interesting.
