Stanislava Konstantinova

And she's got herself 2 GP slots next season. Will be 16th in the Season's Best list once it's updated. Plenty good enough for 2 slots.
Yes, it doesn't look like there are enough ladies below her who can score 200 and push her out. Also at the moment she the six senior-eligible Russian lady by SB plus Pogorilaya who'll get her spots from WS, which makes Stasya seventh in line. Her main competitors for GP spots, Samodurova and Panenkova, probably won't get a chance to outscore her. If Gubanova makes it to JW and is clean there (let's pray for that) she potentially could, but that still leaves Stasya well-placed.

Also, Stasya's WS will go up (right now she is 27th after Golden Spin is factored in) when her 0 points for 2015-2016 are removed after recalculation and some other ladies lose their 2015-2016 season.

Panenkova is only a few points behind her; does that mean that she'll get two spots as well?

Very good question. She's 8th out of 8 ladies in the top 24 who are age eligible, but if she gets 2 slots that's 16 slots with very little wiggle room for the Federation. Anna is not in there, but should get 1 via WS, plus there's host pick as well. In summary first 7 ladies including Stanislava should be flne, but after that who knows. N.B. Stanislava is 6th highest of Russian ladies in there, ahead of Elizaveta, so is doubly sure.

Of course. It would be the most stupid thing in the world to leave her in juniors one more year, because junior field is already overloaded by young talents, and will be more to come. Scherbakova, Vasilieva and Panova's girls. Moreover, Panenkova can finally become the third Russian lady who can show stable and high results along with Evgenia and Alina, maybe not so high PCS, but still. I'd say she has to be picked right after these two. As for Stanislava, I'm sure she will get two GP assignments as well.

I wonder what Eteri's plans are for Panenkova. She doesn't exactly seem a favourite in that group. In fact, she doesn't seem to be anyone's favourite considering how she's been judged. And she hasn't been as consistent as before this season. In addition to her problems in one JGP event, in Russian Cup events she scored not only below Kostornaya, but Samodurova and Tarusina as well due to a couple of falls and edge calls - falls in 3/5 events don't exactly scream consistency to me. Samodurova is more consistent.

I think she'll stay with Eteri.
She's been with her since childhood and has very good jumps and spins. She's one of my favorites; I know that that doesn't matter but it matters to me :)
Right now she's injured. I think people need to give her break. She's healing from a bone fracture, of course she's going to make a couple of mistakes! She was clean today and clean in Riga, it's not like she's never clean.
But this is Stasya's thread! Great job Stasya on your second challenger series win! Might she be the winner of this year's series?

It's fine. Most important that she didn't fall at JGPF. Russian Cup stages it's like warm-up, I guess. She was well-judged in Gdansk. At the forum was some Polish lady and she said the same thing, which people are saying about Stanislava. I mean, in live Daria was very fast and fierce. She got for that skate almost 131 points. She is still learning how to perform. All Eteri's ladies have almost the same body-type, and her choreography suits them very well. So for Daria have to be an another choreography, like for Liza Tuktamysheva or Gabby Daleman, but in the same time with the same amount of transitions like other Eteri's girls have. She already went through puberty, her jumps are gorgeous, she just started too much worry about her result. That's okay. So, I can't see here a problem. About Samodurova, she was overscored at Russian Cup stages because of winning two JGP stages. Her PC scores should be lower than Daria's. In TES they're also not rivals.

I also like Dasha, it's just I am not sure that the Russian judges/Fed do. She gets more edge calls in Russia than outside of it. They are also not throwing PCS/GOE at her. And I am just saying she used to be the most consistent skater of all and now she isn't.

But it's correct that this is Stasya's thread...

How are the winners determined?

They sum the two best total scores, it seems, so Stasya will be second with 190.75+ 199.68 = 390.43 points once the Golden Spin scores are updated in the standings. Carolina Kostner is first with sum total scores of 392.12, and Liza will be 3rd with 373.88.

Shaking my head.
Baby Stasya should be first!! Can you say overscoring? Carolina was overscored.
It's okay Stasya, you're the winner in my book.

The Challenger events turned out to be the right approach (thank God her new skate problems had been solved before Zagreb!) but I am still not sure why she should have staid in Juniors and not did Rostelecom Cup and then the same Challengers. Or is it better to appear on the senior scene with more just a home spot? I am really not sure.

Stasya's thread has been quiet in the wake of her Nationals showing, possibly because of the controversy about her being overscored in the free.
I may be risking some hate in breaking the silence, but would like to call out that even after ignoring the domestic overscoring, Stasya has shown improvement this season that is worth acknowledgement in its own right.
This season, she has shown the ability to come back after a bad short, and also been able to score 120+ in the free on a fairly consistent basis. Relative to last year, she has improved in her posture and is less awkward looking than in the Cirque du Soleil free of the past 2 seasons. She has been treated well by the Fed in getting 3 CS opportunities and eventually has been able to capitalize with a PB that is likely to qualify her outright for senior GP's next season. Considering that she started skating some 3-4 years behind her compatriots, even if the GP ends up being the pinnacle of her achievements, it is still amazing that she has been able to reach this level where she is competing neck to neck with the likes of Sima, Liza and Lena. She could have given up after coming last in Junior Nats in 2014-15 or failing to get JGP's in 2015-16 season, but has persevered and continued to grow. Well done

Hers was my favorite free skate. She deserves high PCS for her performance and interpretation. Her movements are dramatic and intentional. She can act! Her program had a feeling of wholeness like the best of 6.0.

I thought she did awesome and that FS was something to be proud of. Amazing presence and the jumps were great. Scores are always debatable but when someone nails it and hits their peak at an event like Russian Nationals I'm always happy to seem them rewarded. I haven't watched her much before honestly but I'm going to pay much closer attention :)

:agree: I finally finished watching ladies fs, and Stasya's performance was my favorite of the competition -- and now one of my favorites of the season. I was completely taken in and moved by her. I've rewatched it several times, and felt the same each time. I thought about posting on the general competition thread, but changed my mind after skimming some of the posts, because I didn't want to invite more criticism, LOL. I haven't followed Stasya that closely since I generally don't have time to watch juniors, but I found all the negativity about her surprising and puzzling.
