Jason Brown

It's not just the quads. When he makes mistakes on the other jumps, that makes things difficult.

Not that I've given up hope that he can pull himself together for Nationals. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Yep, that's my take. I have little doubt that Jason will do everything he can to make it happen and embrace what he can control. It does sounds like he has let the self-doubt creep in a bit; I hope that he has that under control. What's encouraging is we saw that self-confidence and shine in the short program at GPF.

If he's beaten fair and square then yes that's fair but I would still be unhappy.

Time for the president of Jason's Russian Lady Skaters fan club to channel her superpowers. ;)

This is where I am. Jason is the reason I came back to skating fandom after a long absence. And though I'm making an effort to get to know other skaters, it's still mostly about Jason for me. If he didn't make the Oly team, that would kill off my interest in the Games, which has waned over the years anyway. I might be interested in Dance or the Ladies skating where I have no preferences, but I just couldn't watch Men's. And this being a Jason fan thread, I'm very comfortable saying that here.

I feel like I'm going to find it harder to watch if Jason is there - too nervous!

I had purchased Worlds 2016 tickets before Jason W/D from U.S. Nationals. I am in a little different situation than you Rosa74, since I also uber hard for the ShibSibs, but it was still a bummer at first that Jason wasn't going to be there. But it actually was pretty fun watching the men and, as TMC, said it was a bit less nerve wracking since I didn't have one skater I was pulling for -- made it easier to appreciate both Yuzu's really awesome SP and Javi's awesome FS. It was fun discovering certain skates who look more impressive in person, like Boyang Jin.

Your feeling, Rosa74, is perfectly understandable, however, and I hope Jason does make the Olympic team!

I really hope Jason does make the team. I would be disopiented but iwould still watch the Olympics I know Nathen chin will be there if Jason dosent go.

I bought my tickets to Worlds 2016 and promptly made a list of stuffies that I wanted to buy for my favourite skaters who I hoped would be there: Artur, Liza, Joshua, Jason, Max, Brendan and either Brooklee or Kailani.

By the time I left for the US that list was decimated. But I still had a great time anyway.

Yes, Live competitions are always fun! Skate America 2012 was my first comp and it was so much fun. I don't think I had anyone in particular I was ubering for, though Bobrova/Soloviev got off my hate list (and Davis and White's Giselle SD was great!) and it was fun seeing Yuzu break the SP record for the first time...when 95 points was a lot, ha. Talking to Brian Orser at the hotel bar was fun too.

Anyway sorry for the OT. The men's sp is just a little over three weeks away, hope Jason makes the most out of it!

I'm sort of obsessed with Dear Evan Hanson, thanks to Jason! So we're all connected, LOL. It's my AM writing music at the moment.

I became super obsessed with it after seeing Platt sing ...Window live on the Tony Awards. I had that performance on repeat every afternoon while preparing dinner. Then the one I was watching was removed from youtube and the videos that are there aren't nearly as good. :( How I wish I could have seen the show while he was still in it.

Is this it?

This version is with piano. It’s definitely more raw (less produced so it doesn’t sound as smooth and even) but I really like it!

His voice is so pretty, and I really like his singing!

So you'll laugh at this. Last night I was doing the Ab Ripper X, which is part of the popular p90x exercise series. Anyway, I got to the last exercise, Mason Twists (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2xN2I_Iu0w) and I was supposed to do 50 of them, but I never got close -- the closest I got in several attempts was 29. (Though I probably did 50 of them in between all those attempts, LOL).

It was incredibly frustrating to not do something I had done before (this is not my first time doing this workout!) and I was thinking, "This is probably how Jason feels about the quad jumps in his programs."

Anyway, I went back and did 50 mason twists this morning, LOL. But of course it was not in the context of the workout (though I did it after a run).

It goes to show how difficult it is for your mind and physical parts of you to do something sometimes.

I love that song and I iove his singing voice I'm starting too be a big fan of ben platt. I also love the way Jason skates too the song its very up beat.

Are you me? I feel exactly the same.

At the beginning of the season I was confident Jason would make the Olympic team. His recent struggles have allowed some doubt to creep into my confidence. I still feel though that quads or not, if Jason finishes in the top 3 at Nationals, he will be on the Olympic team.

Re Dear Evan Hansen: I've previously mentioned in this thread that I broke my radius earlier this year and, after having it surgically repaired, I spent most of the summer with my arm in a cast. Going through that experience has helped me to relate to the character in the musical and adds an extra level of meaning when Jason skates to Waving Through a Window.

Jason's birthday is tomorrow and to kick of the celebration, here's a video of his Japanese fans singing happy birthday to him at a fan meeting after GPF:

Happy Birthday, Jason! :hb:

First post on this fan page! Jason’s “Riverdance” video first got me interested in skating at the start of this year, and I travelled from England to Regina specifically to see him and my other favourite, Patrick Chan at Skate Canada. It was such a joy to see Jason skate, and he was the only skater who performed his entire routine in the practice session. After the medal ceremony, he went around the rink greeting fans, and was so delightful. He graciously and happily posed for a photo with every single fan who asked him. When I left the venue, all the other skaters had left, and at that point, he was still only about a quarter way through meeting all the fans. I really appreciate his magnificent, beautiful, artistic skating, and also the way that he connects with his fans, during and after the performances. I wish I hadn’t been so nervous when I met him, as I’d loved to have told him this! I’m off to Milan for the World Championships, so really hope to see him skate again. Happy Birthday, Jason – thank you for bringing so much happiness, inspiration and enjoyment to so many people.
