Jason Brown

I thank Jason for the few years he gave me great joy. Prefer those step sequences and spins any day over quads. He was a master in those disciplines! I know he will be okay over last night. He is that gracious, which is another attribute why I love him! I hope he did go in that pen to see the puppies like the other skaters. It is great to know he has a new dog in the family this year.

I don't know what to make of the decision. I'm kind of happy that they acknowledged Jason's contributions, but he bombed the free skate. And Ross got screwed over. So confused.

I don't think he'll retire quite yet :) (unless he's really injured)

Yeah I don't like the decision either although based on BOW Jason was right up there, considerably more than Ross. Another thing I don't like is people crapping on Jason because of that decision, like he's suddenly a complete failure. Some FS people on twitter are behaving like a bunch of hyenas

I am happy we'll have another chance to see Jason's programs at Four Continents. There's been something off about Jason all season (internal pressure? trying too hard to meet expectations? nagging injury? all of the above?). I hope he figures his way out of it before 4CCs and ends his competitive season on a high. Then I hope he is able to take some time off before the Stars on Ice tour.

Happy we’ll see Jason in 4CCs. If he’s *not* on SOI, I have really nice tickets to sell :noshake:. But SOI should be Jason’s element....

And I know this is not the general men's thread, but not only did “Boss” Miner get done wrong (and I was so happy for you @Mrs. P), but Grant??:(. I know we all love and appreciate Max, but Grant got done wrong too. Plus I so wanted to see Jason and Grant off on another adventure....

You mean because Ross wasn’t made first alternate or sent to Worlds? I think Sam Auxier was pretty clear that Ross wasn’t being sent to the Olympics because he has a history of not performing well internationally. The same applies to Worlds, and unfortunately for him, the last time he was the silver medalist (2013, when spots were qualified for Sochi) he was sent to Worlds and placed 14th.

To tell the truth, I almost wish Jason weren’t the first alternate. Something has been off all season. He needs time and space to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. When will he do that if he has to stay trained through Worlds and then go right to Stars on Ice through most of May? By then he will have to start cranking up for next season. Unless he sits it out. :slink:

First alternate is such a tough spot. Espically since he may vey we'll get called up for worlds.

If Nathan earns an Olympic medal I wouldn't be surprised if he skips worlds. I'm proud of Jason for getting 4CC , it's a good thing to train for instead of just the maybe of being alternate.

Classy even when his heart is breaking:sad21:

Although now I may need to pay more attention at church retreats, (which I generally sit and fidget at) because the retreat leaders love Brene Brown. And up until now I've just zoned out. But if Jason likes her work....Ok, one more little advantage to this situation.

Umm. I have no idea who she is - I thought he was quoting his grandmother or something!

And he has a big bandage on his thumb in that photo.

And did everyone see the replies to Jason’s post on IG (same as the tweet)

Applause from Javier Munoz and Benjamin Pasek, and this from Karen Chen: “ILYSM. U Inspire me.” (I love Karen, if only because she loves Jason, but just in case you would forget she’s a teenager, the acronyms:biggrin: )

Soooooooooooooo sad about Jason :sad4:

Inner Love is the single program i love the most this year... and bombing exactly that program take him out of everything... DAMN !!! :gaah: :gaah: :gaah:

The FED choice was understandable. If Nathan is the present for a medal, Vincent may be the future, there is too much ambition in those quads for leave him at home. It's Adam vs Jason and i think that Adam appear more solid, this season.

I’m glad to hear about the support he’s getting because it makes me pretty sad to hear how many people are dissing him for his alleged lack of 3A / quad / terrible FS. The guy only killed himself to come back from injury to skate at Worlds with the result that we have 3 spots for the Olympics. And that’s all they can say.

devastated. :(

i'm a new fan to figure skating and of Jason but does anyone know if he's ever addressed the probability of a coaching change?
