Top Prospects of Russian ladies

Nice work, Shayuki!

I can remember Shcheglova, but can't remember Konovalova, Boiarskaia or Rabynina. Need to check them out. [emoji848]
Is there any video of Boiarskaia in existence? The only competition in her competition profile was the one where Akatieva was on 6-8 December and it had no video footage.

In any case, this is someone I'm certainly interested in seeing. The PCS marks were really good also(And realistically good, not like Konovalova getting 19.5 in that overscore-fest).

Even if it was somewhere... Would be nice if all those streams stayed where they are. But stupid copyrights youtube system... Ugh. Just because in one of 50 programs was playing some music from greedy artist - the whole stream of 4-8 hours is dead. What a shame.

Youtube has the worst copyright system in history. Comparing to something like twitch.tv, if a VOD contains a copyrighted track that track gets muted but the rest of the video is available and even the muted part can be watched without sound. It's sooo much better than Youtube just removing everything.

It truly is regrettable that you have to catch and record the interesting skates as they happen or they'll really be lost. And if you happen to ignorantly decide to not record someone who you then gain interest in later... tough luck.

By the way, Elena Kostyleva has competed in this competition today: http://art-caramel.ru/result/1718/20180111NevIce/indexmy.htm - in '3Ю Дeвочки 2011 Группа 1' category. There is a stream for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSkX5kUBkDs

This competition is pretty good - almost all good SPB novice skaters are there.

At this channel somehow all streams stayed where they are, I wonder, it's because of bad sound quality? Seems like she already skated. Sad that I can't rewind this live stream.

I somehow didn't pay attention to this cutie. Ksenia Makartseva. Yeah, 2008 year, no triples. But her potential body shape and soft skating give a nice impression. Beautiful program.

I think that this girl is very talented! Even though she didn't score that high at the 21-24 December competition her skating looks very promising, she's really fast and she has absolutely beautiful flexibility / body positions. And her twizzles were quite nice.

And her jumps seem quite good for her age too, apparently she has a 3Lo even. And the 2A-3T posted at that facebook looked good, too!

She's a rocket!
But her flexibility is so great compared to her jumps, that Mishin's theory about flexibility vs vertical leap immediately comes to my mind.

She also knows how to use her hands and actually isn't just flexible but has that grace that makes it much more pleasant to watch. Actually I guess that's something that stood out to me there - she has this good sense of timing that I'm very fond of. Not musical timing(though she seems to have that as well) but she does the actual motions with good timing and coordination. Like she has a serious ballet(just a guess due to the SP) background or other dancing...?

This appears to be her younger sister? February 2010 birthday. Now, she's not super duper competitive in this age category so I totally missed her but actually, just LOOK at that flexibility. WHAT!? But she also actually does quite a few things in her skating that show some significant promise. Hmm, I wonder. And another thing from this facebook, if this is how one looks like as a 7yo girl can some projection be done regarding future potential? Probably worth tracking.

Veronika has also received municipal prize for sporting achievements, I remember posting video earlier in Russian ladies thread as an example of support for skaters in Russia.

Elena Kostyleva

Shame about the camera bug at the start, but this alternative perspective was interesting to see. She got 1 point deduction, most likely for time violation. Otherwise would have been over 29 points. Anyway, see how light and easy that first 2A is.

What I still really don't understand is how she before, after and even during the performance looks like a total veteran with years of experience.

Outstanding.

I believe she now fills 5 spots on the top 10 list, is the only skater to appear more than once for real this time and also is the youngest skater on the list by a margin of around 9 months. And I guess it still is noteworthy that 5 skates are all that I've seen so she's still not had a skate the score of which didn't make the top 10 list unless I missed it(Very possible).

By the way, how often hold the competitions with programs without jumps or with jumps only? I mean, like this one. Or like Anna's program with spiral. There are only stsq+chsq+spin? I also saw videos where girls did the same jumps several times. Like a battle. And I guess only the best attempt is counted? I'd really love to see such programs more often and not only among the novices.
