Satoko Miyahara

I wrote a post about Satoko's Madame Butterfly, covering her music choice, some gestures, also a bit of kabuki and Nihon buyo here and there... It's in Russian, but if anyone's interested, I can send a link. Thanks to NoNameFace and klutzonice for being so helpful, and huge thanks to whoever runs Satoko's tumblr fan page -- it's just amazing and so rich with materials of all kind.

thank you for the analysis even if I can not read Russian I would love to read your work on Satoko.

Thanks for the updates and the video

The original is here, and you can copy-paste the link to the Google translator, which does a pretty decent job with Russian sometimes. I just checked the translation -- it is readable, although obviously there are many awkward places here and there where you might lose the track. Anyway, lots of pictures speak for themselves. ;)

It’s Coming of Age Day in Japan, when people turning 20 in 2018, such as Satoko Miyahara, can attend ceremonies to celebrate their impending adulthood!

Apparently she restarted practice on ice on January 5th, getting ready for 4CC.

That is the most stunningly beautiful Kimono I have seen recently. Perfect for the Queen!!

yes she is already 20 years old it passes quickly, good passing ceremony to the adult that this year is filled with success. The kimono suits him very well.

Thank you for your analysis Hronop, it makes me appreciate his program even more while I was not excited about at the idea that she interprets Mrs. Butterfly.:amour:

I did not yet see videos of the ceremony, but bumped into a photo yesterday and was mesmerized how amazing Satoko looks in traditional kimono:love:, boy, did she really blossomed into beautiful young lady! I love particularly the gentleness of her smile:)

Satoko participated in a press conference at the Kansai University and got her official send-off to the Olympic Games. She expressed her wishes to give her best, leave great performances behind and cherish the experience of being part of such an important competition with feelings of gratefulness.

Nobunari Oda (former student of the same university and now coach at the Kansai Skating Club) jokingly advised her: “Just be careful to tie your bootlaces firmly”, referring to his own incident at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics where he had to stop the program to tie his bootlaces. “I’ll change them before they snap”, Satoko answered.

Oda: “Two years ago I was asked [by Satoko] if there is such a thing as a demon at the Olympics. I told her there is, but there’s also goddesses.”

There's still 4CC in a few days :)

oh yes it's true and it starts this Monday. I think with the fact that Kaethlyn Osmond and Gabrielle Daleman are not here there will be a Japanese trio on the podium. I hope she will take care because she has only a few days of recovery before the team event besides will she do the SP or the Lp? it scores well in both.

Satoko is more vulnerable in the SP. Usually, her FP is steadier and more assured. She should do the team SP as the first real life practice on Pyeongchang ice.
