Javier Fernandez

Congratulations to Javi for his Olympic bronze medal!!! What a wonderful achievement, an Olympic medal for Spain!!! He skated his performance sooo beautifully, pity about the mistake, but he got a medal anyway!!!

I'm so happy for Javi!!!! I sort of wished he would have gotten Silver though. Wish I could save a video of his FS for posterity, but all of the links I've been to won't allow me to. So proud of him!!!! Making history again.

I'm so happy for Javi! Congrats on the bronze!

Such an amazing story, from the bottom ranks of the World's to 3rd place in the Olympics!

And how sweet was the group hug of the podium winners! Hope Brian uploads that photo!

I maybe a little biased, but Javier deserved to be in second here.

At least he got his Olympic medal. Congratulations!

No bias here  I thought him not falling would have made his PCS higher over Shoma's FP. Brian has trained Yuzu and Javi to have cat reflexes. Both of them avoided falling like the plague.

Omg congrats to Javier!! He's really come a long way since his first worlds and I'm so so so glad that he was finally able to see the fruits of his labour over so many years :agree:

On my way to the medal plaza by bus, but moving slowly because of the traffic jam. Javier should be on a shuttle bus later, so I am not worried that I will miss the ceremony, but could be a he'll of fight to position myself well in front of the plaza, as I expect at least half of the spectators of the event will be there.

It is a bit bitter sweet for me, I am glad he got a medal at last but at the same time I think he is a bit underscore and deserve silver.

Congrats, Javier! Very well deserve Olympic medal! I hope you don't retire yet for 1 more season.

Please cheer extra hard for us Evergreen! We are all so proud of him.
And if I may ask, at what time does the medal ceremony begin? So I may try to catch a stream or something...

FWIW, on an interview on Japanese television, Fernandez said that this was probably his last Olympics. He's left the door open!

And he did it!!! Unbelievably happy he got two good programs at the biggest moment of his skating career!!! His ability to interpret music and character are unique!!!

A tiny bit sorry that the sal was not a triple at least (for silver). But he looked so genuinely happy all the time that there don't seem to be any regrets in his mind.

Congrats to Javi for this last and most important addition to his medal collection! Hope he gets to celebrate with his family and friends soon enough!!
