Javier Fernandez

Dear all, I am on the KTX train heading towards Gangneung at this moment. It is surreal to see the Olympic Rings here and there at the Incheon Airport, and I haven't come to realize that Javi is going to compete in the short program portion at his final Olympics less than 20 hours until I found my seat in the cabin.

It takes about two and half an hour by express train from the airport to Gangneung. I will see whether I am able to visit the venue once I settle in.

I will try to post as much as I can, if I am not freaking out as time goes by.

Wish Javi the best of luck.

Not the best practice session of Javi's life obviously. :rolleye: But hey, I've seen him faultless in practice and then do mediocre programs in competition, so I would be more than happy to take the opposite. ;)

LOL, yes, a lot better for Javi not to have perfect practices, I´m scared of them...

Good Luck in the SP, Javier! I think if he is confident and clean, he will have no problem being in the top three going into the LP. Maybe top four if he, Shoma, Yuzuru, and Nathan are all clean - but I have a bad feeling about Yuzuru and Nathan.

Javier's warm up was great, he looked relax and all the jumps were spot on, spread eagal to 3 l, 3 A, 4T -3T, 4S, a little step sequence in the last one minute, Tracy is wearing Spanish team jacket, Brian's neutral, the third one, who I suppose is the jump coach of TCC wears black jacket too.

I'm having flashback of last year's Worlds. Javi please don't collapse. Any medal will do but honestly I'd take silver right now.

I wanted him to earn at least 110. Thought judges scored him a tad low in the PCS. I pray for his strength and stamina in the free program tomorrow. Go #DonQuixJavi for The Impossible Dream!

I honestly thought he'd score at least a point higher, but you know what, I'm proud as hell of Javi!

I was a bit surprised about his score, should have been higher, considering his sp score in GP France a liiittle bit. Enjoyable competition, so many of top skaters delivered well in spite of the Olympic pressure.

At FS Javi is to skate after Hanyu with Jin to follow..., is that a good starting number? On the other hand he is used to skate after Hanyu, LOL. Hopefully he can shut his ears at least from the earlier scores, LOL.

If he skates after Hanyu he will need to be ultra perfect or Hanyu will need to make an error for Javi to get gold. Pray for Javi!
