Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

One of many interviews aired after his winning, there was the interview I had not seen before. It was in TV show called "バイキング” (I don't know how to spell in this case) and it was given in June of last year in Niigata. He was asked about his future, and said;

Thinking about the peak of a normal male's body, if I consider various sports not only figure skating, it's pretty much its prime is in around the age of 30, with many experiences and well-formed body as well. So now I feel strongly that I will be able to do many different things. I think the possibilities are indeed infinite. If you win the Olympic Games once, you only have an impression of defending it and not challenging anything again. But within me, I am still at the age of being able to challenge more from here, I'm still 23 this season after all. Since the prime will be coming from now, I am not there yet. I can do more.

(Interviewer: I'm looking forward to it, it seems like you are the one expecting the most.)

There was probably something in me like "I could master Loop jump" or "I was satisfied with Loop jump" in the last season, but if child (younger) me saw myself now, he would say "why are you so happy?" because I have come this far in order to do 4A or quintuple jump. When I think about it, I really feel "I still have a long way to go".

He said he already started image training of 4A :tantrum:

It was short, but we saw that Lz we never saw before... there will be an NHK special on the 26th.
Shoma and Yuzu simply gave their comments on the ladies competition. Of interest, was that Yuzu said, if he could, he would have given both Alina and Evgenia a gold medal. :biggrin: -said with a lot of feeling, I thought.

I just re watched the 2015 gpf Seimei and realised Yuzuru scored 219 for a clean 3 quad program.
Wow, that would have been highest FS score in this OG. minus 2 pts for the 3 Ltz shaky landing, it would have been equal.

Aw that's very sweet of Yuzu. I think he admires Evgenia a lot, he has said so multiple times, and he must understand how hard it must be for her.

He's been in that exact same position at least twice before, so I'm sure he understands that better than most. He's such a good person. As a Yuzu fan, I am proud of his empathy, and as a Zhenya fan I am thankful to him :yes:

His 4Lz-3Trippon looks so pretty :cry: I'm glad the Japanese media pulled this from their secret vault and aired it :pray:
