İnteresting article about obsessive fans and particularly about the will they/won't they angle. But for me the conclusion is golden:
"With Virtue and Moir retiring this season, it is perhaps a chance for the sport to move away from the off-ice drama and focus on the skating. It’s actually very good." Couldn't have put it better myself.
I also like this part comparing V/M and Torvill and Dean:
"Pyeongchang gold medallists Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue are the Torvill and Dean of Canada, only shinier, slicker, more publicity friendly than their British counterparts in that way that only North Americans can be. Torvill and Dean were, as young athletes, shy and reticent, preferring to avoid the limelight. Virtue and Moir, on the other hand, are ready-made media personalities." Reminds me of another certain comparison
As for our lovely dorky Gaby and Guillaume, they will never despair with such personalities and that's why their fans are able to take a step back too because they're a great example of not taking anything too seriously. They are not the type to get bitter and make sour comments all over the press. As Gaby said: " Nobody knows where they are, we just move on ..." We collectively needed to get some stuff out of our chest I think, clean the bad air and now maybe we can move on too. Of course, I still hope the ISU tackles some of this judging issue, maybe like after Worlds last year they'll make some adjustments, at least for Fed presidents not to be able to judge anymore.
Now I'm all set up for tonight, I found a free stream to watch ITV1 and with the time difference, it'll be 9.00 PM. Perfect timing, I'll be nicely sipping tea in a quiet house

First time I'll watch this show but from comments on instagram and twitter I won't be the only one to tune in just because of Gaby and Guillaume.
