Alina Zagitova

I think every picture taken by a fan is fantastic, for the mere memory and capturing of a great moment alone. Looks great, well done!
I would think it is less pressure if Zhenya is not there. Of course, I don't know Alina and how she feels about it, but I personally would rather compete against regular competitors from other teams than against my superstar team mate. Either way, best of luck to her!
This time at WC only Alina is dependable, the rest is so...

I think Alina posted an IG story of a book about Akitas in Russian. I wonder if this means she got her dog already? Or maybe she is just doing some advance research?

Enquiring minds want to know!

And I think that she likes that guy, the hockey player, i don't know if they are dating as the article said, but she follows all his Instagram pages lol. Typical for a teen:biggrin:.

I'm more interested in the dog, but the hockey player is cute too. :) He also follows her on IG. Also Alina's father posted an IG story a little while ago of himself and that hockey player. I think it was taken at that TV show they were both on. (Alina couldn't go because she was sick so her father went in her place.) As a former hockey player and current coach, I'm sure he was pleased to get a picture with the 'golden' goal scorer.

I can't imagine they are dating right now but they seem to have become friends. :)

Probably Alina just has the book at the moment. It wouldn't be the best time for her to get a new dog a week before she has to leave for Milan to compete in the World Championships!

I don't know about the dog... It will be difficult to have the dog in the small flat she lives in. And she has other pets ... Well, we shall see.

I was amused that after the big avalanche of comments on Instagram, Daniil is finally following Alina's lol...Not that I don't like the outcome, but I prefer less intrusion in their personal business.

I wonder what she will skate at the next coming shows in Japan. Maybe her EX or something else?

what comments?

Comments such as: he unfollowed her account after she won the OGM, other said that he never followed, but he should do it, why doesn't he follow her, others even questioned the persons he follows on Instagram. I was like... What the h@ll?? It's his private account, he can follow whoever he wants.

Alina Zagitova's pet Akita is probably bigger than she is! but fear not because Eteri will make the dog lose weight so he can fit into the tiny apartment. ;)

Wow Danill now follows Alina on IG. He is a little late to the party. Sometimes it's been hard to see Alina's coaches be happier for Evgenias high scores than Alina's high scores it's obvious to see. I hope the same does not happen with Sasha Trusova. But Sasha is the record-setting jumping jack Junior from Russia who is the obvious Heir Apparent to Alina. I just don't know if Alina can handle going through this again as she has with Medvedeva. We have all seen her coaches not smile after Zagitova set World andbOlympic records after the short program during the Olympics and Alina was absolutely afraid to smile or get excited sitting in between Danill and Eteri. It was so sad. I do not want her to go through this again. The coaches should be equally happy for all their skaters who do well and that's all Alina needs and deserves.

Oh, God... I think you exaggerate a lot

I agree. I was re-watching alina's junior competitions of last yr. I found that eteri looked so happy when alina achieved good results, big smile on her face, e.g. gpf 2016 and russian nationals . However, when u look at the coaches' epxressions thus yr, u can spot the difference easily. I think there is no need to further elaborate the reasons. I just hope that alina will win worlds and show the world that she is the leader.

I hope so too.

Good point about Eteri with Alina as a junior and senior.

Maybe a little bit.

You're right, a larger apartment should come before the dog. For the sake of everyone and every pet that lives there!

That is so ridiculous about fans pressuring Daniil to follow Alina on IG. Like they don't already spend all day every day interacting with each other. And Alina barely posts on IG. I hope that changes after Worlds and we get to see vacation and Akita pics. But as for anyone needing to follow someone - just let them live!

There is a video on YouTube of Alina and the choreographer (Alexei?) dancing to a samurai themed routine. That would be a great idea for a show number with the right music.

Scott, I see what you are saying. I'm giving the coaches a pass for their reactions at her scores these past few competitions because I think they were in a state of shock. Not that they don't want Alina to succeed, they just couldn't believe it was happening Right This Minute. It changed the ending to the movie they thought they were watching/making. I don't even think Alina could believe what was happening.

I'm expecting different reactions at Worlds if all goes well. Not trying to jinx anything, but she is definitely in with a chance to win it all this season. And from what I can tell with the help of Google Chrome translation the Russian media seems to be treating her win as a foregone conclusion. Like they expect no less. Here's hoping!

Well said. I hope her coaches will show more happiness at worlds.

I also hope the pressure of carrying Russian figure skating without Zhenya at worlds does not wear Alina out. Zhenya was there at Europeans and the Olympics to take the brunt of the pressure for Alina and Maria. But she's not at Worlds so the pressure has to be handled by Alina Zagitova. I think she can handle it. I just hope she is not tired.

By the way even though I am sometimes critical of Alina's coach Eteri I know she is an outstanding coach and taskmaster and very beauiful too. She has the kind of amazing cheekbones that supermodels dream of. :) ;)

Good luck to Alina at worlds. I hope she completes her perfect season with a gold medal there but even if she doesn't she's had the best debut season ever in figure skating and one of the best seasons ever at the tender age of 15 But if she wis gold in Milan it will be hard to dispute that she's had the greatest season ever in figure skating for anyone any age.
