Alina Zagitova

I think Alina's grandmother and the Akita are going to become best friends when Alina is traveling. I think a bigger apartment is going to have to come before the dog. For the cat's sake if nothing else!

I wonder how much a nice three bedroom apartment that is reasonably close to her skating rink would cost?

A much bigger apartment is needed. Mainly for the dog! ;)

Russian medalists are also awarded prize money from up to two regions that they represent/train in, so Alina may receive:
+6,500,000 rubles from the governor of Moscow, where she lives and trains
+2,500,000 rubles (estimated) from the governor of Izhevsk, her hometown
Some past medalists have also been gifted apartments from the head of the local province. (Wink wink, nudge nudge!)
Alina's total winnings could reach 20,000,000 rubles, which is about 350,000 U.S. dollars! Well deserved! And she is receiving a dog from Japan, too!
Where did you get this from? Source?

Alina will attend some shows in Japan at the end of March-beginning of April.
Who is usually going with the skaters who are minors to this kind of shows? Parents or coaches?

i heard in the past, they cannot earn money in pro show unless they quit competition. Now they can make money going to such show.

Are you her accountant? How much can she earn going to one ice show in Japan?

Alina will end up with a very nice prize haul from her Olympic success:
+4,000,000 rubles from the Russian government for winning a gold medal
+2,500,000 rubles from the Russian government for winning a silver medal
+4,000,000 ruble BMW X5 from the Russian Olympians Foundation

Yes, they can. As far I remember, last year Evgenia and Anna were touring in some Japanese shows, and also Elena 2 years ago and now she's in a show in Switzerland.

Don't know if it has already posted, here is Alina FP from the Olympic channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlXCk1LDlC0

I made a mistake to look into comment section. Some time passed by, normal fans are content so now all self proclaimed expercts climbed out of their holes and start to spread comments about how the world of figure skating would look like if they would have it in their hands. Its allways such. Its funny, but little depressive too.

Plushenko said that? Good. Adelina said some really nice things too but that was basically about both Alina and Evgenia.

if Zagitova wins the world championship in a couple of weeks I'm sure her coach Eteri will show real joy, right? ;) Maybe the pressure of the Olympics got to Eteri. Maybe she will be happier now when Alina wins.

What I think happened was that there were preliminary deals made with sponsors for Zhenya, on the condition that she takes the OGM (which was a foregone conclusion for a long time anyway). At the very least, I know that her talk show appearances were scheduled in advance (After the Olympic games she has appeared on Pust Govoryat, Match TV and will appear on Evening Urgant along with Bobrova). Since that didn't happen, (plus Alina winning EC) the sponsors are considering backing out and the FS bosses + Eteri are trying to make them stay by maintaining Zhenya's status as the main star and portraying Alinas win as a fluke. Eteri basically said flat out at that press confrerence that Zhenya lost because of her injury and didn't mention Alina at all.

I don't know the real situation, but the sponsors shouldn't be so much interested in her winning the OGM, but on her popularity. I do think that with this defeat she became even more popular than with a win.
Do Eteri and the Fed get some money from their skaters' endorsements? And what about the shows?

Good question. I wouldn't be one bit surprised if that were the case. I vaguely remember that Frank Carroll's contract with Timothy Goeble entitled him to a share of Tim's earnings from skating tours and other things. I think it became an issue between them.

Zhenya's popularity seems pretty solid, I doubt the sponsors want to back out on contracts already signed. But Alina's win certainly changed the narrative.

I hope things continue to go well for both girls and that sharing the spotlight dilutes some of the toxic effect it had on Julia and Adelina's careers.

Thank you for your Insight and opinions. Medvedeva is tremendous absolutely fantastic and any sponsor would be lucky to have her as their spokesperson and the same goes for Alina of course. I know the gold medal means a lot but in the eyes of the sponsors and Russia they should say you have Zhenya as a gold medal quality performer as well even though she only took silver in the Olympics. But you're theory about why Alina's coaches look so stiff and unhappy when she won the short program and then won the gold medal is an interesting take and it may have some truth to it. But I would hope not because it's some point zagitova and her family will have had enough of the disrespect from those who are supposed to be cheering for her the hardest other than family members.

Did Alnas and Zhenyas coach Eteri really say that the only reason Evgenia did not win goes because of her injury? SMH. How much more favoring if Zhenya by Eteri and the others can Alina take?

Evgenia didnt lose Alina won. So did medvedeva because she was so great too and such a good sports man and a great leader of these young Russian figure skaters. I can't imagine sponsors wanting to pull out from her just because she won silver and not gold.

Very interesting take I like it very much especially your last paragraph and how the Toxic effect took a toll on Yulia and Adelina's careers.

On a side note I Wonder What Alina Zagitova thinks about what Alexandra Trusova did today with her two quads and her Monumental scoring and her gold medal Junior world Championship. Alina won the junior World Championship just a year ago now she's Olympic gold medalist and then is 13 year old Sasha set all kinds of records with her Junior World Championship win today including two historic quads completed in the long program. Again I wonder What Alina thinks of this and even if she paid attention to it.

I'm not against tango, but I don't like singing in figure skating. It is quite distracting for me. But that's just my personal taste.

Agreed.
Would love to see Alina doing something completely different. A tango should be interesting. :)
If she does another ballet program I'll be dead. [emoji23]
