Just got back from a BBQ and one of the guests contributed a dozen cream puffs from Beard Poppa. Yum - chocolate cream! I brought the brownies and rice krispy treats w/mini chocolate chips.

The cookie is usually soft and cake like. 1/2 the cookie has white icing and the other is iced with chocolate. I didn't realize that it's a 'New York' thing, but there was a Seinfeld episode where Jerry raved about this cookie. It was the episode where Elaine was trying to buy a chocolate babka.

Many, many times I've gone to N.Y. and I have never heard of black and white cookies. I guess I didn't go into the right kind of stores that would sell them.
