Nathan Chen

ice coverage is correct, from press conference at GPF 2016, they were asked about the possibility of 4A:

I would not take Nathan/Raf's answers regarding 4A or 4-4 jumps too seriously, at least not at this point. It's like how Apple release their phones, they will never let you know the actual spec until the release date. This is perhaps what they have to do to stay ahead of the game.

I watched it like 20 times...:palmf:

Haha that’s about right, too cute and innocent with “well, it’s just, I” and shared to 9 others. Spread the love and positivity.

Maybe because Hanyu’s coach said he’s interested in doing it. Who knows, surprise me!

Random lurker unlurking. I just wanted to post the link the CBC commentary, but I can't do it on my first post lol.

Anyway, I've been a FS fan for many years, but haven't been watching much for the last few years. Just recently got back into it more because of Nathan. I'm really excited about his future. Nice to meet everyone!

And I don't think he's going to try to do a 4A, though I wouldn't be surprised with a 4-4.

yeah, 4A seems quite unlikely and it seems that he's only gotten his 3A consistent since like this past competition lol.
I would consider 4-4 within the realm of possibility as Nathan can already do the second jump 3T from pretty much a standstill, so if he could get greater flow out of the first jump, I could see how a 4T could be possible ... I'm just speculating though.

And it's funny that he said Max tried it on harness, as if he didn't try it.

Orser did that remark on one those radio/web interviews i accidentally click into (shouldn’t have and regret it)

Anyhoo, here’s the OG oops wrong “room” haha on live television

Welcome! Keep unlurking, like me :)

Nathan's answer is very conservative about 4A and 4-4, basically, he is saying that for 4A he needs to practice his 3A first, for 4-4, maybe conceptually possible, but it is gonna be very hard and he haven't actually tried, Raf is the one who is positive about 4A attempt (to Russian media) and says it is a matter of condition.

hahahahahaha - thanks for sharing. I will truly always remember this 'Olympic moment'.

I’d love to see his reaction to this, maybe when he wins 2022 and then ask him what would you tell the 2018 Nathan?

Nathan's 3A is by far his weakest jump and he barely has enough height to complete the rotations. I really doubt he'd be trying the 4A before he can even master the 3A, though I feel very positive about the obvious improvement on his 3A that I've seen starting during the Olympics.

I was trying to say that Nathan and his team will hide whatever weapon they are sharpening until the day they are going to use it. So analyzing things they said in public about new jumps is pointless. They simply won't let you know.

Great point!

Thank you and yyyskate for posting the link. What VPN do you recommend discode?

I use hotspot shield. The chrome extension works for CBC, it's free and the quality is good.

And thanks for the welcome guys.

And SP commentary doesn't seem to be up, so I don't have it. They just have an interview with him, but no program from what I can see.

I heard the exhibition will also be aired in early April, would be also to hear what they have to say about Nathan's number :D

There's no difference in BV between 4T3T and 3T4T. But current BV is 15.6 for 3F4T and 16.3 for 3Lz4T. Current BV of 4T3T is 14.6.

Trying on harness is different from training on harness. I would read it as young boys having fun just to see how it feels like.
