Because Ash and Adam will have many opportunities to do icedance, but for Nathan, it's rare...so just enjoy it, you may not see it again in the next 4years.

I have no problem with his ice dancing. It's a great opportunity to see him do it. He's a fantastic dancer. Though I wish it was a different song and with Karen instead of Ashley.

Hmm, why? I honestly don't know if Karen would've been able to pull this song off better than Ashley or that it would've been any less awkward...

ETA: I think if their gripe about Nathan and Ashley dancing is the age difference, I think that's pretty narrow minded.. just IMO.

More seriously, Nathan seems to be pretty good at picking up new choreography compared to Adam or Jason so that would definitely be something to consider.

^^ yeah, I think Nathan can fixed his posture issue, that is why I brought up Ciz here, that is the goal right there yep, this little fan has some extremely high standard.
Also I agree that Nathan should alter his styling (including posture) to suit for different dance/music genres. e.g. when you dance hip-hop you can not dance it like ballet (Shout out to Alex Wong, who is masterful in both). like Yuna Kim (her swag in Fever, her jazzy in all of me and her elegance in Meditation. ALL perfect postures suited to each specific piece). That is not my issue with Nathan's posture, and I love Nathan's versatility. my issue with Nathan's posture is that he seriously sometime is off or weird in his posture regardless what genre he is performing and as a little fan with extremely high standard on this FF, I hope Nathan can improve on his posture.

BTW, maybe they asked Nathan to do the ice dance with Ash instead of Adam or others is because, Nathan is the only male skater who can learn the choreo in 2 days. maybe

Part of the awkwardness to me is the song choice/their relationship to me. If I didn't know who they were I might not mind it though. I'm kind of over nitpicking him though over an ex.

And yeah, age difference probably is a lot of people's issue. I saw comments about he shouldn't do a song about loving someone's body and taking shots. I mean it's silly, but it's something some people aren't enjoying. It's not like he's underage, but I guess it's not something some fans want to see. I do appreciate him trying new things though.

I think it's mostly weird because the two lack chemistry. I have no complaints about the age difference or the song. And since they've only been "partnering" together for a few days, it might be less noticable if one of them was an actual ice dancer, between the two. Ashley doesn't look too comfortable in the partnering either.

I mean....if people have no problem seeing a married man and an betrothed woman dancing to such a song with each other, they shouldn't have a problem with Ashley and Nathan? And remember, Nathan and Ashley didn't start talking to each other until 2016.

This is the best part to me, they were smooth with eyes contact and good flow of movements between hem, a few earlier moves are what appear stiff to me, like I said he’s had 3 days max to learn and this sensual expression may be too rich for where he is in life right now, Ashley was a good partner to ease him into this dance number.

Now, hope someone at the house remembered to use the dvr today *pray*

That's the part I noted in my previous post as well. I don't see anything awkward here and maybe I'm watching this through rose colored glasses but IMO he was so great here that I couldn't stop watching!

2. it shows that ashley isn't looking at him either. it's not only nathan who's avoiding eye contact LOL! madison hubbell looked *way* more comfortable with nathan

he was off the music. we're harsh critics here on the FF (even tho i'm not one of those expecting him to equal guillaume except in posture)

I know, I know - honestly I was so mad at Vera - but even that haircut seems fine in retrospect. Yeah his hair did not look good at Nationals, but by the time of the Olympics, it had grown out to perfect clean cut Prince Charming length with one errant curl perfect for a global audience. And for worlds - the haircut had peaked with perfect baby curls.
Other than her skeleton jumpsuit, which thankfully we’ve only had to see once - I have found myself later seeing the reasoning and genius in Vera’s saratorial decisions.

i miss that one errant curl sooooo much. I made a gif for it myself.
