Nathan Chen

thank you for appreciate Nathan, a Chinese American skater who never did any show in Korea and I hope you enjoy the other Chinese American skater V and Chinese skater Boyang in the coming Lovely Jun's ice show.

Big shout out to Korean Nathan Fans here:luv17:

Me either. There are a lot of Nathan’s fan in Korea after 4CC in Korea!😀( so i could get many fan cam, and pics by korean fans... )
At olympics they made some banner to support Nathan.

And Yuna’s ice show start again this year, so i hope Nathan at Yuna’s iceshow in furture😍

Man they should let him pick his own FS/SP music out. He really comes alive in ex, though I guess part is because he's not worrying about scores and landing a hundred quads

Korean and Japanese fans are the best. Most of the time I see them retweet or find stuff from english sources before the American fans

Yaaas that would be wonderful, I do like how he does offer his input when selecting music with whoever is working with him, wouldn’t it be great if one day he can choreograph himself (along w/ pro help) with his choice of music for a season, I will be in tears of joys.

speaking of fans,
while I was in the penalty box, I read you guys discussed fandom a bit
Thanks to @sheetz and @frida08 to keep Nathan FF alive before he made this big.

A little I know about Nathan's Chinese Fandom, Nathan does not have many fans before his senior seasons in China, Actually just a handful (maybe less) figure skating fans who mainly fellow North American skaters gave regular updates about Nathan.
Not many Chinese Nathan fans even witnessed Nathan's Chopin program. In recent 2 years, Nathan fans started to grow, especially during and after OG, Nathan's new Chinese fans exploded, and they started to watch Nathan's old programs. One sad thing tho, since Nathan's artistry suffered since he shifted his focus into quads, he also lost some figure skating fans who fellowed him from the beginning due to this artistic potential.

Speaking of V and N's personalities, I don't wanna get into trouble, just a bit insight, from their Chinese fandom perspectives, V initially has more fans than N in China. since his personality is more suited to the Chinese market, but N is catching up now, since Nei is so hot, and Chinese new fans started to get him.

Great idea. Choreography is expensive. Another way for Nathan to save money.

I wonder if Nathan got tired of 'No Good' after a whopping two performances (I think)

So frugal and resourceful Nathan self-choreo Back from the Edge💕- and so frugal that he would not even spend a penny on any new clothing for it😊

😆
And to reward the fans BIG TIME 🙌🏼 I would record every single competition if it happens. This is why Nathan brought me back to this sport I grow up watching - his versatility in all aspects not just mediocre at best, but promising talents he’s already displayed AND the growth he’s shown in addition to how he’s evolving the sport, simply gold!

i srsly think Nathan have good music taste, I love back from the edge and stole the show and dream on
there 3 ex he choreoed himself, I love them all and all good music choice.

but competition music choice is a whole another ball game, Nathan may still need professional help for now, but he can give input, like he can say wanna skate to Mozart or piano etc.

Yeah, competition he needs a pro since everyone else will have a pro to get every bit of points he can. I think he could help select music though, or at least have input .

he can save money by reusing the black pants next season too. :agree: he's won a lot in those pants.

He can still learn a lot from professionals so he should still get his competitive programs choreographed by others. But he can self choreo most of his EX programs. Especially if he's busy with school that would be a lot less time consuming.

Curious about how this will all work for him. I expect Nathan to both 'meet his match' by intersecting with so many young people who have achieved and aspired to excellence during his every day excursions through the corridors and dining halls at Yale. Yet, to find the balance? He's pretty super human, and this freshman year at Yale will require some super powers. It's good that's "only" the first (and arguably) least important year of the Olympic cycle, given how we all know how much can change by the time we get to 2022.

Do you guys use the app discord? There’s a figure skating chat there that’s you can live chat during live streams & check up on news or talk about specific skaters etc. It’s less strict about what we can say imo. Check it out if you guys haven’t already.

Also, Hello everyone 🤗
Welcome to the party:-). Thanks for sharing the app. I haven’t used it before but will definitely check it out.

If Nathan chose his own music - we wouldn't have Nemesis or Mao's Last Dancer💕

So I can see benefit in him not choosing his own music for competitive programs

But I think he should be his true frugal self when it comes to his ex😍
you are always so funny:luv17:

I may have another opinion, I will use Yuzuru and Shoma as example, Yuzuru's ex Swan and Shoma's see you again, are explorative ex programs choreod by David Wilson, who they won't usually use for their competition programs, but they are doing this is to use ex to explore other sides of their artistic range. And I love to watch these ex programs from them and think it is great for them to expand their range and to me they indeed learned a lot figure skating wise by doing so.

Exactly. But I do hope he implements more of his own creations as he absorbs and learns from the best, which he probably will comparing to his last self choreo vs this one.

Just the pure fan joys is awesome, note to self: I need to bring cough drops with me. @ mamamiia you need to pack some too haha
Lol... I actually ordered a compact 4K digital camera to record the show (hope no SOI spy here). Chose same day delivery on Tuesday and still didn't get it. :sad4: Need to call the shipper for the 4th time tomorrow morning. As a regular online shopper this has never happened before:sad21:.
