Why shave the armpits? That doesn't change how much you sweat...
Antiperspirant would be the only thing that could reduce it to some degree.
Then again, I don't get the obsession with Nathan's pit-stains at all, I think people in general should relax about such things, it's annoying enough as it is, for those affected.

about oatmella forget Nathan's red boy's number costume
I have a nickname posted on this FF, "Chinese red apron" (红肚兜) for that Red boy's number costume only on Nathan.

just wanna remind, There are a lot of professional or non professional figure skating costume designers out there with various price tag NOT just Vera or Macy's
about pit stain, first, I was wondering is that pit stain (last dancer) oatmella posted for real, I thought it is photoshopped, otherwise, Nate's pit stain is really crazy!!!:eeking: I think i suggested using baby powder, but I never us use it, I just thought maybe it will work. I actually have no idea.
also I think, pit stain and pit smell are too different concepts (thus, regular deodorant may not work ), maybe even too different biological systems, maybe pre-med Nathan will figure it out himself

I actually don’t think Nathan has poor hygiene, I think it’s more likely that he has an excessive sweating condition.
That being said, Vera Wang has shown that pit stains can be avoided with well crafted costumes, despite this “condition”. Give credit where it is due lol. I’m not saying Nathan has to stick with Vera, I’m just hoping his costumes for next season are equally well crafted, even if the design has to be compromised. I actually liked the OG and Worlds costume for the LP, although I agree with the majority that the SP design was meh.
I really don't think this should be a girlfriend's job, as an OGM contender caliber athlete, his over-all packaging including details like pit stain should be his team's job

is this somehow unexpected? he seems very comfortable with Karen, so I didn't think anything of it. But maybe close observers *cough oatmella* can tell us

Shaving won’t result in less sweating but helps with pit stink - hair is porous and absorbs odor, and odor causing bacteria breeds in pit hair. Shaving can make one feel dryer though and gives a smoother and more effective surface for CLINICAL-STRENGTH anti-perspirant to be applied

Nathan does appear to be a heavy sweater. And yes, Vera deserves credit for her costumes that not only complimented and highlighted Nathan’s physique, but also were free from the distraction of the rivers of his pit sweat

I think his team is aware of this, given the number of costumes with the extra layer covering the armpits (both of his costumes last season, and the Vera OG FS costume). The Vera costumes that did not have this extra outer layer resembled wetsuits, IMO also for this reason.

just crazy thoughts from me. please ignore if you think it is inappropriate.
I think we should let Nathan's pit sweat flow freely, instead prevent, maybe can use some absorbent, from those life hacks YT videos, some girls actually used panty liner sticked to there to absorb pit stain and protect their clothes.
BTW, Nathan follows a couple of life hacks accounts.

Sorry to gross you out:sad21:, I just feel it is and should be a consideration in choosing his competitive costumes.

:yes: not expensive experiment anyway.also I think a heavy sweater is a good thing. No medical background here, just pure assumption. Heavy sweat indicates great hydration. great vasculature system（and cardio）. great metabolism. and it is great for the skin.

Just want to point out that navy shirt might be made of synthetic fabric that's very difficult for skin to breath in, thus cause larger amount of sweat. He was wearing white T for no good at worlds gala, didn't notice any issue.

My observation is that the coldness from ice and the wind generated from movements should help to cool down skaters a lot, but when the fabric is synthetic or not specialized for sports, the skin care barely breath and the cold air is blocked outside of the fabric. Some fabric looks like silk but really is much cheaper 100% synthetic that I would never wear.

I’ve noticed some guys who have great metabolisms sweat quite a lot when they sleep
So this heavy sweating is really a good thing!
