Evgenia Medvedeva

Mentally I think doing shows is a good thing for her so she doesn’t burn out with training. And the love she gets from Japan is important to her confidence. Getting silver was hard for her and I think the shows may remind her that she is still a success, even if she’s not a gold medalist. I think returning to train immediately with Alina and the other juniors may also be hard mentally without taking some much needed time and space away to process and regroup.

Realistically it’s unreasonable for her to be training nonstop in a non-olympic year. It’s probably the reason she got stress fractures. Even Simone Biles took a year off completely from gymnastics before returning to training for the next Olympic season.

This makes so much sense to me you have no idea.

You know what? If she actually keeps her Leftovers program, she doesn't need to hurry now with planing a new choreo. They only have to make her a new SP. And last year she participated on Dreams on Ice (1st Anna Karenina) in July, so I it shoudln't be a big deal that now in June she'll be going again to Japan.

I DONT think its healthy for evgenia to leave eteri, she might be harsh and strict coach but she brought evgenia to the top, and by that alone you know that eteri cares a lot for her.

Eteri cares first and formeost about winning and medals. She has the approach "what works for us" not "what works for you". I think it´s obivious after watching the documentary and the last season.

Can you blame her? She is a state coach...so the state does not care which name brings the gold back home.

I don't want to believe anything until we hear it from Evgenia and Eteri themselves. Things can happen, technology can glitch, rumors can get started, people can create fake accounts to do whatever they want...

Zhenya has unsubscribed from the group of Eteri team in Vkontakte...
She also unfollowed Hanyu fan accounts and deleted all of Hanyu's photos on instagram but going to 2 same Faois as him. So her social media activity is strange, but maybe it has nothing to it. Just a change of mood

Ok, there is something in what you say. I'd rather think Zhenya has decided not to be distracted by unimportant things and is preparing for a new season

Are you hinting at the rumor about Canada? I am just wondering if it comes only from russian forums or if there is any other more or less reliable source?
Why Dave Lease is so silent, we need information.
No. Just because you need money to stand on your own. In Sambo everything is decided and intergrated in the group sp it’s cheaper than going out.

Honestly, something happens, cause I really doubt that Eteri would allow her to do so many shows, when she was injured and missed a lot of training.
Look at Alina .... she doesn't have any scheduled show for the upcoming months.
Zhenya is injured. While Zagitova is not. Zhenya needs time to heal. While Zagitova doesn't. Why are people pushing Coach change rumors until now? Eteri and Zhenya both denied it already

Why is it a big deal if she decided to leave Eteri's group? Almost every professional athlete I know switches coaches at some time. Sometimes it's messy and acrimonious but most of the time the relationship just ends because it's run its course. Sometimes a new set of eyes and a different person delivering the message is mentally a good thing for both.

The power dynamic between a coach and athlete constantly changes, especially as the athlete grows older.

That group is good for skaters who are still kids. When they grow up there will be issues.
