So now it's official I am so thrilled about it and looking forward to seeing how this partnership goes!

Also by no means, I see BOrser as an answer to all issues for Zhenya, he is no magician. But what I am happy that she SERIOUSLY WANTS TO STAY IN SPORT AND GROW AS A SKATER!!!

I didn't believe to all rumours that her doing the shows and trying herself on TV was to finish career as many sources claimed, she loves figure skating and wants to try new things, that what I admire and very happy about!

This is a massive challenge, but I believe in Zhenya and wishing her the best of luck on new journey! :cheer:

Good on Evgenia for keeping her head high and taking all of this in stride. I sincerely hope this move allows her to have a long, fruitful career where she can blossom into new levels of athletic and artistic accomplishment. This move took a lot of guts, and it shows just how much dedication she has to this sport and her own growth. Good luck Zhenya, we're rooting for you!

Wow, what an incredibly gracious statement, especially in light of all the mud that's been slung in the last few days. Well done, Zhenya. I hope Canada is everything you've hoped for.

Now, when it is confirmed - hope she will find and achieve what she wants, regardless to who she went for the change. And that she won't let herself disrupted by whole media/PR mess that sure will go for blood on this topic of which we already had a taste. There will be probably an endless speculation and 'word for word' game about this whole split which will divide further in people's views - no one is perfect and maybe both sides felt things/actions differently that now causes divisive statements.

I don't know why but I really empathize with Eteri. Maybe because I have the feeling that she needs this more :scratch2:

She drives her skaters to injury at an early age (sometimes career-ending) and trashes them when they have had enough and decide to leave. Still, she has countless skaters lining up to work with her and the reigning OGM. Poor Eteri. :rolleye:

I have a feeling Eteri just got ghosted by not only her fave student but also the RusFed. RusFed can be an incredible pain to deal with when they don't want you to switch coach. Exhibit A: Yulia. But this coaching change goes super smoothly for Evgenia - she must have the support of somebody in RusFed. I suppose she got green lights to approach BOrser as well - the girl's rich but four years is a long time, and if the fed joins the mudslinging sponsors are not gonna stay.

Plus, that would explain the mess Eteri made yesterday :laugh2:

This would 100% explain why Evgenia would kind of be forced to ghost Eteri rather than being more up-front and discussing the change with her. That would've given Eteri the chance to get RusFed involved on her side and make things more difficult for Evgenia.

Then again, Eteri might have known anyway, since other posters have pointed out that there seems to be evidence that they knew Evgenia was leaving before this past weekend.

classy, but still she fires back "Also, I wish all the children from the Eteri Georgievna group, the greatest health, patience, diligence and sports longevity, because we all now know figure skating is moving forward"

I don't think that's true. At whom do you refer more exactly? What skaters?

Presumably her Fed
Why would Russian federation pay such huge amount of money, having one of the best, if not the best figure skating environment in the world: top facilities, coaches, tournaments, traditions, popularity, etc..?

It's like living in the Middle East and importing oil from abroad, isn't it? :confused2:

I am overall kinda sad. Looks like retirment to me, and my prediction here is that next season she will lose not only to Alina, but also to Osmond.

Ahh, yes... she refers to quads lol and injuries  - the new big issue for those who cannot jump quads.

I mean, if she's going, it means she can pay for it. She's not moving to Canada without a plan on how to support herself. If the fed doesn't give her money, she's made more than enough. Again, if Lil Bet can afford it, so can Zhenya.

I mean, Kazakhstan and South Korea can afford it.

The Russian Fed needs Evgenia, for at least one more year. She’s at the point where she has leverage, and can use it.
