Honestly, RusFed needs more Eteri than Evgenia. Eteri can produce champions for the next decades.
Evgenia is not already young and very healthy.
But, yes, they seem to totally back Evgenia in this, even though they risked to upset Eteri... I wonder why?

Russian fed has several other young coaches who give good results. They just do not get same respect as Eteri.

BTW Polina is out of Eteri group as well, confirmed by the poor girl. But some people think Med is the one at fault and poor Eteri was betrayed.

I think we are gg to get a lot of “hate” for this but [emoji1327]*. “Classy” would have telling your coach of 11 years upfront and this statement from Day 1. Not getting everyone riled up and waiting for 3 days (or longer).

I think practically everyone knows Eteri is a good coach for young girls and she get medals. She is very efficient. But she is 44 years old, not 18 and look at how she trashed her 18 years old student on national tivi. It was childish.
Many great artists, or sportmen are childish. It does not mean they're not great in their field. But it does not mean they must be respected despite their flaws. What Eteri did yesterday, trashtalk about her former student, was funny to most people. That's all.

How will Russian fans receive someone who has talked down Trusova's historic achievement and called world junior champion from Russia a "very short-lived phenomenon"??? :noshake:

Good results, maybe... I like in particular Panova, I think she has potential... and I said here before that I hope RusFed will invest in her school cause I read the training facilities are bad.
But Eteri has or at least had excellent results. This is partially why I think she has also many enemies, including in the Russian figure skating. We know that byzantine intrigues are pretty common there.

I get what you’re saying here as they have seemed to have a close relationship so wherever this came from Eteri or Zhenya it must have been incredibly hard on both of them. However in my opinion and others Eteri took everything a step to far by going on to yesterday and in comparison to that Zhenyas public response is more classy and mature. Furthermore I don’t think this is a decision which has been made lightly and I think it might be based off her foot diagnosis in March which revealed problems from Eteri’s coaching and her future in the sport. Finally we don’t know if Med ghosted Eteri or not as messages like that can be easily faked or just nit tell the full story but Eteri’s camp definitely knew about it all before it hit the press based off vk group and daughters Insta.

Actually, most of the comments in Russian internet are compassionate towards Eteri and Alina. The majority of fans seems to consider them as victims in this situation.

What about Takaranova? They say she has pneumonia but it was really strange that a pneumonia kept her in hospital for 2 months. Some say she leaves Eteri as well.

1) Alina is getting kicked out of Eteri's group two years ago. Being a good girl, she comes to "say goodbye", give flowers, etc. Eteri changes her mind and proposes to "try again". Alina wins OGM in Pyeongchang.
2) Evgenia loses OGM. Supposedly blames Eteri for "not keeping Alina in juniors for one more year". Waits a couple of months, leaves Eteri's group with a big drama.

Not the end for both of stories though. Let's see how it continues for both of them

Hmm. I’d say the difference here is Zhenya wants to get out of this toxic environment whilst Zagi got kicked out. Obviously they’ll have different responses. And bringing flowers doesn’t guarantee kind treatment ask Piteev who brought her flowers and was labelled lazy.

I love Alina. She is a great girl. But to be honest if I were in your place I would be worried for her right now. This is not the case to boost up Alina and drag down Med. because frankly, their healths are the top piority.

Polina is out of Eteri group as well. Not only her, no update on Takaranova, some say her condition is horrible (anorexia) I don't know what's wrong. It sounds worrying.

You can dream of a perfect scenario for Alina and Eteri. I am kinda worrying.

Personally I think the situation could be very simple.
Evgenia after lost OGM(and injury) simply realises that she can't bear such intensive trainings anymore(because of age, etc), which Eteri uses for her girls. The only question is why she couldn't have done it in more decent way, without 3 days of rumors and all that mess. Also, Eteri is being not so smart to spill all that mud(probably letting herself being too emotional, she probably can't control herself good enough). Both could have handled this situation much better...

Alina is obviously a nice girl. Humble, shy, polite. No denying that. But it‘s also kind of a different situation, I think. Alina got kicked out, Eteri probably thought of herself as the „good one“ to consider a new start. Whereas Evgenia... She wanted to leave. It‘s not like Eteri kicked her out, but she left on her own. So, while I appreciate Alina’s behaviour, it‘s just... whatever Evgenia did, with Eteri it wasn‘t the first time. Other skaters brought flowers as well and it changed virtually nothing. I think with Eteri you just have to be lucky with which mood she is in.

But just saying, as an afterthought: I‘m worried about Alina as well. She „missed“ the chance to leave first and now? RusFed and especially won‘t be too happy if she chooses to leave as well. But she‘d need it. Alina seems too fragile for someone like Eteri. Besides there‘s all this pressure with the quad kids training next to her. She‘d need somebody who‘s pushing her but not so hard that she‘s psychologically damaged from it.

Im kinda worried for Alina too,we know how competitive eteri is she wants her girl to be on the top and now she have all the reason to show evgenia that she will be sorry she left her. Alina vs. Evgenia saga continue.
