The context of what Med did was simply changing coach. In all other countries no one try to talk down the athletes just because they change their coaches. Kwan left Frank Caroll and she's still American darling. Gracie left Frank and people put xxx on Frank too (I don't feel sad for him though).

it's not really comparable. coach/skater relations are different in russia, all figure skating system are different, mentality of people are different, i doubt that foreign fans are understanding even 1/10 of this. plus eteri was already labeled as evil in the west, no matter what she does it will be seen as antichrist actions to put an end for a world

actually no. the overwhelming majority of people that are making comments in figure skating threads on sports.ru are figure skating fans only. it's the same people that you can see posting on FSO or in live chats on youtube during figure skating streams. of course there is also a random soccer fans wandering in comment sections, but noone takes them seriously.
and what profile FS resources are you talking about? i want to visit such a wonderful fairy lands

In my opinion, the majority of figure skating fans in Russia normally accept the decision of Evgenia to change her coach. They're just not active on the Internet.

Casual FS viewers came to me to ask why Alina was such a bad girl and didn't stay at juniors when Zhenya asked her. Or why Alina was so selfish that didn't perform one jumping pass less at the Olympics. In the best case scenario they blame Eteri for this, not Alina.
All mass media at the Medvedeva's side as well. She will be fine.

well, maybe there is medvedeva fan group in vk somewhere, but i've never visited her fan groups, so i've never seen anything similar to goldenskate on the russian part of internet, definitely not FSO.
it's also hilarious that you mention that not figure skating fans on sports.ru are only caring about bringin medals and glory to mother russia. because that site is highly political (the owner of this site is a guy that runs very popular political talk show on youtube, he is also connected to navalny somehow) and their main auditorium consists of people, that hating everything about putin and russia in general. and while in figure skating threads you can get a hundreds of thumbs ups for hate on medvedeva, in a soccer, tennis or any other popular sports threads you can get close to a thousand up votes for just saying that russia is the worst place on earth

1. Zhenya complained that Eteri didnt held Alina back after her FS at Olympics, in the heat of the moment
2. Someone here said it was ok, because we all can say such things in the heat of the moment, it doesnt mean its bad
3. I said that if many people do something, it doesnt make it good either, and brought nose picking as example

Ug, I probably should not engage anymore with the terrible nose picking analogy...but picking your nose is not immoral. It’s gross and not socially acceptable to do in public. So again, the immoral part would be publicly announcing to the world and shaming someone for a time you saw them pick their nose in private.

What Zhenya says doesn’t even rise to the level of “immoral.” She wasn’t wishing harm to anyone, she was making a comment about wishing for way for her main competition to have delayed competing against her. It was retrospective and had no baring on any actual events as she can’t influence the past. Maybe it wasn’t “nice” but i would not say it was immoral to say something like this in private.

Yep, I'm Russian living in Russia and I'm rooting for Zhenya. Figure skating section on sports.ru is mostly a cesspool, I don't take it seriously. I saw many russian fans supporting Medvedeva on twitter, tumblr or on YouTube.

all people there are so nice to her, while reading the russian forums i feel like medvedeva is hated now by 95% of figure skating fans. it's the same amount of hate that eteri receives here (or probably more). for example, if you want to get a hundreds of thumbs up on your post on sports.ru all you need is to write a bashing on medvedeva (i'm doing this from time to time just for fun). although sports.ru is famous for hate on evgenia, it wasn't like that in the past. it was like 50/50 or even 60/40 in favor of zhenya. but now it's just madness, it all looks like she will get some "boo" from the crowd if she suddenly appears at rostelecom

Sports.ru is a liberal media source. I don't know how it works in other countries, but in Russia liberals openly act according to this principle: "anything bad for Russia is good", so I doubt they care about medals.

well, figure skating fans are not soccer fans, they are mostly acting classy in public, and they don't want to hoot down on anybody, but the feelings are strong in these one. so i can't exclude a possibility of hearing some "boo" from a small amount of people at least. and i don't think it will changes with time, i think that the russian crowd is forever lost for her.
i'm one of those people who supported medvedeva in the past. but now i can't see myself rooting for her ever again, no matter what will happen. i don't hate her, from now on i just don't care at all

As to me, my attitude to Zhenya stays the same last few months because I stopped care much about her after I knew what explanation she gives for "Karenina" program. It sounds too egoistic, as self-advertisement and very disrespectful to Tolstoy.
And now, when I'm not surprised anymore with "you know what breaking news" I just don't care.

What did she say about the program? I've read something, but I remember that it was mostly about finding "recognizable artistic image that is understandable not only to compatriots, but to all the rest without translation"... I'm curious about that, since is the only program she skated that I somehow liked.
