That 2003 pairs performance was amazing.

Rice was a competitive figure skater once - earlier this year she met with Denkova and Stavyski in Bulgaria. I guess she thought Maxim was a hottie, but he was already taken by Abena....poor Condi. Oh wait - that was my fantasy. But the part about them meeting in Bulgaria is accurate.:laugh:
 
Perhaps there could be a similar job for Barbara Fusar-Poli:Defense -Ambassador-At-Large;have her face our enemies and glare at them like she did in Torino.

So, MK will be an unsalaried public diplomat. Cool! But why unsalaried, I wonder? It's a lot of work, and she will certainly do a lot more good for the reputation of the U.S. than a lot of people who are drawing salaries.

But I suppose the connections she'll make are priceless.

Not all ambassadors are salaried, but their expenses are met.

Not all ambassadors are salaried, and they are appointed, but their expenses are met.
Career dimplomats rising to ambassador had to prove their worth.

Is Michelle's ambassador appointment a sign of a career in politics / political arena or is this more of UN Goodwill thing ala Angelina? A good pr move, but not necessarily a sign of a pre-career diplomat proving her worth?
 
I would think it might be a career move for her, didn't she say she wanted to be an ambassador? or am I getting what she said confused with what fans are hoping? LOL

See, I'm with you Toni... If I remember correctly, Michelle has never really said what she wanted to do... only that she loved politics and was planning on studying poli sci & psychology at DU...
 
She's always has an amazing amount of confidance. I think that's one of the reasons why alot of people are drawn to her. I've never been a fan, but you have to admire her for that.

I would guess that Michelle is non-salaried so that she can remain an "eligible skater."
