As for the customs, in some countries, incl. mine, saying Santa is like commit deadly sin, it is considered as unwanted import I. g. in my country we have "Ježíšek", which means "Little Jesus" or "Baby Jesus" (which is funny because we are probably the most atheist country in the world, but tradition is tradition ) and even in shops can be seen Santa ofthen during christmas (bussiness corporations doesn't care about local traditions), in public opinion it is largely rejected. Also if you are interrested, we are giving gifts not on 25th december morning, but on 24th december evening (christmas evening).

I love it when countries stick to their traditions, it is now a part of culture, and should be passed down. In some countries of Spanish culture they really value the Three Kings and celebrate them on January 6th with even more fanfare than Christmas Night. Another thing I find funny: I've spent many a Christmas in tropical climates and all shopping malls still use the "traditional USA Santa with snow proof clothes", and this in over 30 degrees Celsius. The power of marketing I guess.

Exactly. When I go to cinema during fall, 2 or rather 3 months before christmas I will definitely see Coca-Cola ad related to chrismas with Santa as the main character before the movie

It definitely looks like Masaru - but a picture of her could have been used to create this picture.

My theory - her parents are in Moscow. There isn't room for everyone at the apartment so they got a hotel room.
