Awesome article and pictures!! Does anyone else think he is super handsome? And seems modest and down-to-earth too... I am really curious when/how he, Vanessa and Morgan met and decided to work together..

Elbkup I don't know if the following info is old news or not: The last version I heard was at the end of 2015/2016 FS season VJ & MC were either going to find a new coaching team or quit. Vanessa (her BF currently lives in Broward County Florida may have tipped her off about John Z back then) emailed John Z who was also living in Broward County Florida. Whether she met up with John Z during the off-season is unclear. But Morgan was busy getting tattoos, shoe shopping, and sun burning himself in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale by June 2016

Thank you for the video MDIslander! It really explains alot about John Z's beginnings with the team; he speaks well but is definitely modest about himself... must be the Alabama deep South in him... I was astonished to learn how new the Earned It program was when they first skated it in competition... wow!! And how daring, feisty and driven Vanessa is even though she is shy too. Your description of Morgan in FloRida made me laugh but I remember him saying in an interview how much he loves it there, thinks the weather and the people are wonderful. Appreciate your post!!

Oh, thank you! Those dates have gone in my diary to make sure I pay attention. And I'm thrilled that they're getting cast in shows this off-season - it shows people want to see them and even better, it means they get paid!

I haven't heard of him doing any choreography, no, but that has the potential for all kinds of awesome! (Not to mention it's good practice for him to get started doing formal choreography before the year in which the ice dance teams have to skate original patterns). I'm not on Instagram so I can't see stories there, but is there a way to link it here or in the Programs thread in the Edge?

It is interesting for sure, but if he had no experience is a risky move for Vanessa and Morgan.
