Well, until he's sure not to throw the SP after a fall on the 4lz, I'd say keep a one-quad program. Especially if he's on for another long season, though there's no Olympics again. Even if it's just to test how far the judges are willing to go with the GOE. A fall on a lutz won't be at all worth for him in the SP, though if he manages to land the rest of his jumps in the FS things are different. But he hasn't done that until now - and he's had two full seasons of him trying out the lutz in competition. I don't think it's absolutely a problem that just comes around when he's in competitive ice.
He might want to try the quad lutz in the Challengers, but come the GPs, if the lutz is not there, no reason for him to keep testing things the entire season. I'm pretty sure they got the idea of where his strenghts are and might want to explore them the most he can. Not all skaters can get a 100+ program with only one quad, and if the judges want to go there, Misha should provide them the path.
