Where are u guys getting the information on Kostornaya?? Have any of the other girls routines been announced? I would die to be a fly on the wall in that camp!

These days it's mostly her ask.fm (while we learned her new program's music from Daniil's instagram), but for a non-Russian speaker her fan fest thread will likely be a more convenient source.

What do y'all think about the new base values. They lowered Lz to 5.9, Lo to 4.9, S to 4.3 and T to 4.2. But the flip... the flip remains at 5.3. I think it is absolutely ridiculous, why not make it 5.1 then?
Are they trying to pull up some flutzer(s?) we have here...
Maybe because it is often hard for judges to decide if skater had clear Lz or unclear(flip) edge and vice versa at some exact moment. Now even when are not sure which jump to call, the difference in decision will be less damaging (cause difference between those two calls is now smaller)

Sorry, I was typing from my phone and didn't really pay attention to that! I will take Alenka, since Kostor(ka) means a type of fish in my language and makes me uncomfortable

No, that can't be the reason. Jumps are identified by their entry and not by which edge the skater launches from. Lutz and Flip have different, clear to the naked eye entries. If a judge (tech. panel) can't identify the entry then they shouldn't be judging. I mean, I can tell apart a Lz entry from a F entry and so should most people that have watched FS for more than one season.
ETA: skaters also submit their tech. layouts to the tech. panel

Usually the skaters have the planned program components, which already displays the jumps distribution. As pointed out the entry can tell the difference between a Lutz and a flip. The Lutz has a longer preparation to get into the back outside edge (if they are able to keep the correct edge it is another story)

ive seen skater with flip entry looking lutz tho. And i remember Rachael Flatt jump was confused flip/lutz and judged wrongly iirc? idk the whole story though. So its can be confusing and misjudging can happened but its rare case

Yeap some skaters I just do not get when she either jump the Flip or Lutz. Their take off are so alike.
But then it will be called regardless. If the Lz is so messed up that it looks like a flip, it still will not be a perfect flip.

At least her lutz doesn‘t look like a flip, though. Stanislava gets called, though. Not in Russia but... everywhere else.

Somewhere on this thread there was a post with a screenshot from Daniil. It had the whole list with music for the new season. Maybe the answer hides there... Unfortunately, I have no idea where this exact post is anymore.

Hmm, she said it's classical and I don't think it's ballet, right? So it should be Tchaikovsky but of course, no way of knowing for sure until it's announced.

Selfishly, I hope it’s the Nino Rota version even though it’s a bit overused because it’s beautiful
