Nathan Chen

She posted it too late  there wasn't that part 2 days ago but it makes everything better cause it starts smoothly!

But is this one really better though? Without sounds it literally looks like a zombie waking from the dead to me LOL 😂

I prefer the version that starts with shoulder twitches. Of course if he masters the zombie stirring awake moves he'll turn my impressions around, but for now...

I like the movements of Nathan, as far as I remember his programs have never disappointed me, on the contrary, Nathan never ceases to surprise the audience, although sometimes I dream of seeing him skate some "battle horse" what he chooses will be interesting to see and he will do it great

PS: I like that Nathan has many fans, what I miss is that before you could write to him and get some kind of response, now with so many messages it is simply impossible for him to read them all and answer them, train boy and keep surprising the world :dance2:

Can sheetz and the other knowledgeable folks tell me about the format of Dreams on Ice again? :scratch2: He’s only skating one program at each show, right? So what are the odds we’ll see either of the new programs, even with show-level jump content? (if he's skating Caravan I want a *planned* 2a in place of the 3a--so he can relax and really sell the piece)

And... speculating on whether the ubiquitous black shirt costume will reappear in a new program-- how do you feel about that?

If it fits his current build and he rolls up the sleeves and the black pants don’t have bulging pockets, I’m all for it. Long live the black shirt. It could be... hmm... black shirt the second, like Henry the V, or something like that.

When did Nathan get there for last year’s Dreams on Ice? How many days ahead of the first show, I mean. :scratch2:

I'm pretty sure he used to write letters back to the people who wrote him letters, back when he was less well known. I know one Japanese fan posted about it--that she wrote to him, and when she received his reply, she realized he must have written it in the time he was recovering from surgery after his hip injury at 2016 Nationals. I think she was very moved by his letter.

It's probably impossible now for him to even reply to most of his social media messages, much less real letters. But people who meet him in real life still say he's very kind and humble, so maybe if you see him at a competition or show... Obviously that depends on your circumstances-- if you live near enough, or can afford the time/expense to travel to an event. But he's lucky to have such a fan as you, so I hope that can happen some day and he can thank you for your support in person :)

Skaters at DOI perform one program and are only required to learn minimal choreography for the opening and closing numbers so they are normally flown in 2 days before the first show. In this case that means Wednesday. Nobody knows which program Nathan plans to skate. He hasn't had his programs very long, but last year he performed Nemesis at Sun Valley on July 29 only a couple of weeks after visiting Shae-Lynn.

Thank you, sheetz. I'm excited for Mamamiia and the other folks who'll be seeing him at Sun Valley on July 21, since I'm pretty sure the new short will be performed there. I wonder if this season's program sneak peeks were the choreographer's idea (Sam's), or did Nathan permit them because he's one of the headliners for The Ice, maybe, and these sneak peeks serve to pique fans' interest? As you said, he was so secretive last season. :)

Have you seen any Nathan's Nemesis from the actual show at sunvalley? I have seen the practice clips but not the performance.
