The Chinese Baidu bars are going to get even more ugly. There's already two threads low key bashing him for not going to TCC ( even though it wasn't confirmed).
Well I hope official news come out soon.

I didn’t want to listen to the whole tsl video, but I managed to catch the part where they talked about how they said he wasn’t coming, but Team Orser had said Jason wasn’t either, so it didn’t sound that convincing to me. Unless they talked about it somewhere else in the video.

I clicked it off when they called Boyang’s artistry “special needs.” :rolleye:

When did they say this about Jason?

LOL. TSL doesn't know which coach works on artistry today: no one. Glad they revealed their shallow understanding. No one is in need for attention more than TSL, so ignore this.

I think it's a different bit because they said he wasn't coming then launched into speculation why and it was some weird-o reason of a clash of egos between Lori and DW/Brian due to Lori being the one to do Boyang's programs before he came to TCC and there had been no input from them. That doesn't sound plausible to me but then, again, while they often speculate wrongly the actual information is often right.

You think there really might a grain of truth in the ego clash?

News is awaited, but it does seem weird given the timeline that the programs might have caused a clash. We don't know the "till when?" part, do we?

It was in their most recent video. It went something like “Brian’s team said Boyang wasn’t coming. But they said before Jason wasn’t coming, so maybe this is a ploy...” and the went into the programs debacle theory.

Oh. Well, maybe they need something to fall in place for now. Or even TSL simply don't know the "till when" part yet.

I listened to it and somehow managed to not punch something during the "special needs" part. So they couched it by saying "Orser's team" is saying Boyang is not going, but "the Chinese" still think he is going, and that Orser's team had also previously denied Jason was going so it might not be true and IDK, I'm really confused.

Either way this is really upsetting.

No, I don't think it's plausible at all. It's too peanuts IMO to either give them any leverage plus it's hardly strange to adjust choreography due to skaters' needs. I also don't see why Lori would be huffy about this. David has said before he'd never meddle with another choreographer's work. Also, Boyang would stay there for 4 seasons, there will be other programs. Too much potential conflict over nothing.
I just don't see it.

Guys my fam and I drove by TCC a few days ago while coming home from Montreal. I so wanted to be able to poke my head in :) But I think Zhenya was and still is in Japan at the moment.

I wouldnt take TSL word for granted esp as they always have a very derogatory view of Boyang. I think it would be better to wait for confirmation from the people that are actually involved in this instead of making up a storm over speculation

I don't think that's quite the reason I would discard any information they might possibly have, but I do agree we ought to wait. Seems too handwavey to me.

So I listened to the TSL thing. It seems like despite their affirmative statement that Boyang isn’t coming, they really don’t know if he is or not - they basically backtracked as soon as they said it, so it ended up seeming like gossip, with no real facts. It seems to me that Boyang would benefit from a lot of stuff at TCC regardless of whether he works with David Wilson on his competitive programs this season - eg working with Tracy on skating skills, transitions, maybe working with David on an exhibition or in a general performance class, etc. I mean Yuzuru and Boyang are different skaters with different needs, but David Wilson hasn’t choreographed Yuzuru’s competitive programs in several years and it doesn’t seem to be a problem.

Thanks for watching and reporting. I haven't opened and watched a full TSL video in years. With the off-season we are having, maybe we are just getting a little paranoid and seeking news.

This doesn't even make any sense. Did they really say that? TSL seems like the last "source" that would know about what "the Chinese" are "still thinking".

Anyway, we'll see.

And Lori works with some TCC skaters. Gabby for example. Brian even mentioned her as one of TCC choreographers.

Lori has choreographed all of Gabby’s programs in the past four years. I really don’t think Lori is the problem here, it’s prob more TSL’s speculation for the sake of drama. Plus, as mentioned already Brian is totally fine with Jason’s SP by Rohene.

Yes it was really sort of round in circles!

Regarding Jason, if I recall, at some point in the past few months TSL said something to the effect of Brian won’t take Jason because he doesn’t think he can get a quad. After Jason was announced as going to TCC, I think TSL said that someone had looked at the way Kori taught jumps and thought it was wrong, at least as to quads, and the thinking was maybe he could get quads if his technique was tweaked. The implied source for both comments was Doug Haw, but they never actually said that.

Honestly, I don't think they know. I'm actually still not sure why they wouldn't even give a timeframe? Like, did they feel "not going" implied "ever"? In which case... why not just say it? I think they're not sure at all about what they've even heard, and perhaps it's not from the "usual"/more trustworthy sources, and apparently still got wrong information for Jason. And they can't possibly know what "the Chinese" are thinking, unless they got it from their source who purportedly got it from Brian, and Brian not telling them before letting it slip seems incredibly messy and unlike him. Could be that TCC doesn't like TSL nosing around, but there indeed might be some lag with the CSA which is causing issues. So, for the time being, meh.
