I believe H&L was his idea(?), but LGC was a suggestion from Jeff

ETA:
Here’s the info on LGC
When he listened to the music of Prince, an artist who passed away in April this year, he liked the tempo and felt that it matched Hanyu’s skating.
“Because we had the concept of let’s try something crazy, the title also fitted perfectly. Both Yuzu and Brian liked this idea immediately.”

Hope and Legacy was also his, wasn’t it?

I can’t recall if H&L was his own idea, but the song was a Japan Paralympic theme song, so maybe a song that he have listen to when he grow up?

My top pick would be Jazz, but I was actually also really looking forward to another Japanese theme free program, it’s hard to find Japanese theme even in the current Japanese male FS circle, and Yuzu really did a good job, his character, his look and his body build really suit Japanese theme.

H&L is Yuzu's idea. Brian disagreed but was unable to change his mind.

Thank you very much! I knew that Jeff was the choreographer, but I didn't know that it was his suggestion.

Amazing, how Yuzu could embody that song at GPF'16 - the power, joy and musicality... I really thought, it was his personal wish
Kudos to him for that achievement

These past seasons he has used one occidental music (LGC, Chopin, both SP) and one Japanese music (Seimei, Hope & Legacy; both FP), so maybe he will continue this trend

lol, why Borser didn´t like H&L?

AFAICR, Brian worried the judges might be unable to grasp and appreciate the music since it was not a powerful one like Seimei.

And he was right, hence H&L's underscored WR. I think Yuzu himself even acknowledged the lack of appreciation for it.

Yep, I had to think of Helsinki, too. I'm so happy that Yuzu pulled through against all odds and gifted us with that wonderful freeskate :hap93:

I think, Ambesi and Dolphini wouldn't disagree. I'll NEVER forget Massimiliano's escalation:
"Interpretazione: DIECI!! Coreografia: DIECI!! Performance: DIECI!!... 97,08 è uno scandalo."
Iconic moment in the history of sports commentaries :laugh2:

Tessa&Scott on their triple 1A with Yuzu
“Yuzu talked us into that” and “We were in Japan, Yuzu’s kind of the boss”

He definitely has an adorably bossy streak...

That would be lovely. I think his pretty well unparalleled stature means that he has the best chance to showcase the possibilities of Japanese music and spearhead its use, and even if I also don't quite trust his personal taste in music, I do think he has a gift for picking pieces that have become iconic (though I still would have preferred Saint-Saens to Il Divo, Yuzu!!!)

Wasn't there a Jazz program by Jeffrey that we were told about?? Can't remember what happened to it or what year that was...

I think Yuzuru will have all the say in the program choice now! If he is skating for himself and for his own challenges, then, why not?? :hap85:

I remember watching this and I couldn't agree with him more.
It was really scandalous :drama:
I am wondering was one of the commentators there also the person who discussed jumps during the olympics?
It was a segment where they were critizing judges on their poor evaluation of jumps.
