2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Well, I think Alena's also going for 3Lz-3Lo. If she had had that at the JGPF, that would have given her the gold over Trusova.

Well, I think Sasha is also going for 4Lz (also Anna's official fanpage confirmed, that she will do a 4Lz as first element). If she had had that at the JGPF, that would have given her an absolute dominance over Kostornaya. So there is no "if". If both of them were at Olympics, they would destroy our Medvegitova (aka Alina+Evgenia's ship name😂🤣) like Arya Stark destroyed The House Of Frey. BTW I adore four of them with all my heart 😍😍😍

"If she had had that at the JGPF" and landed it and everything else clean.
Same goes for Olympics.

The thing is, it has to be clean and so on blablabla
Because then, yes: Trusova JW FS scored 153.49 with one jumping pass less, while Zhenya and Alina scored 156.65 at Olympics FS.
Which means that Trusova would be 1st in FS at Olympics (1 extra jumping pass easily covers the gap), and likely 4th overall (because no quads in SP and her PCs are meh)

No, she didn't need a 3Lz-3Lo to win JGPF.
She needed her rightful PCS advantage.

What on earth are you talking about?

Just imagine: Anna with Quad Lutz, Alena with 3A and Sasha with several Quads ( and ALL THREE OF THEM WITH 3LZ-3LO !!!) Senior ladies can throw each other on the ice and pass out :D :D. Kolyada, Chen, who? I only know Eteri's juniors. XD

Last time I checked Kolyada definitely wasn‘t a senior lady but I guess I get what you‘re saying😂

Do you REALLY think, that judges would give Sasha 61 in PCS (who jumps 3Lz straight into the Cantilever, with breathtaking transitions) and Osmond 75? O_o. Alena would definitely outscored ALL OF THEM with PCS.

We were saying: „If Trusova doesn‘t land her quads and Kostornaya lands her 3A, it‘ll be worth more.“
And it‘s not that wrong to assume Sasha‘ll have problems with her quads at least at the beginning of the season
Alena have never lended any 3A in competitions. yet.))) :)
Nobady knows what is going to happen and how it may (or may not) affect her programs. (personally I hope everything will work out for Alena)
When you're assuming that she won't have problems but Sasha will. it's strange. that's it. ;)

For me it doesn't make sense to compare hypothetical massy skate to hypothetical clean skate. why not other way around than?:scratch2:
compare bv and layout. clean vs clean. mess vs mess.

But they‘re not in seniors so it‘s pointless to argue who‘d have beaten whom. Once they turn up there, we‘ll see what happens but for now we should focus on the achievements they make at the moment, like being the first lady to jump two quads in a program or coming in 1st and 2nd in multiple competitions throughout the season. Alina, Evgenia and Kaetlyn have done an amazing job at the Olympics and respectfully earned their placements so downplaying them by stating that three thirteen year olds would have beaten them when they didn‘t even make their senior debut yet doesn‘t seem okay to me. I love Sasha, Alena and Anna but seriously, let them turn senior before talking about beating the current Olympic Medalists.

But you didn‘t get my point then. I never assumed Alena won‘t have problems. We didn‘t even see her 3A in competition yet, how could I realistically think that? I compared clean to messy skate because a user claimed a 3A could never beat a quad and I pointed out that, yes, it could indeed IF the 3A was clean and the quad messy. That‘s what started the discussion and that‘s why Alena and Sasha were even used in the first place to exemplify this.

I adore Misha's babbling personality, but if Sasha or Anna jump 4Lz with TEC over 92 next season and Misha not, I will throw myself on the ice XD. That will be shockingly funny . Also junior guys from WJC ( as well as Olympic guys except first top 6) wouldn't be ashamed to call themselves "A Russian Junior Lady" after Sasha's performance 🤣😂.

Well, but you can‘t really compare a grown man to a little girl pre-puberty. Of course Sasha‘s quad are an amazing achievement but really, no man would like to be compared to a thirteen year old girl. Doesn‘t seem fair to me. We have yet to see whether her quads survive puberty. Doesn‘t mean she isn‘t great but those two are really different cases and even though I can‘t deny I was annoyed at Misha‘s showing at the Olympic Team event, he doesn‘t deserve this. Sasha and Misha are different people and they compete differently. So saying one or the other is „better“ is totally pointless and even a bit unfair.

Sorry, I haven't read all the previous comments, so I might repeat a question.

But if we, hypothetically, imagine that Trusova keeps her 2 quads (S,T ... or Lz?), Alena adds her 3A (and maybe a combo?) and Anna manages to pull out her 4Lz and do the rest of the jumps, who will have the biggest advantage (BV)? I suppose that would be Sasha T, but how big would this advantage be?

I agree comparisons should not be made, but both the skaters are actually in the best moment of their lives when it comes to body shape. Just like females have an advantage pre-puberty because they have no curves, males have an advantage post-puberty because of muscle gain.

It would be very big. Not sure about the specifics with all the BV changes but I still think it would be like 7-10 points.

Alena would need to repeat the 3A, and Anna would need a second quad(Which I am sure she'll add over the course of the season).

I’d love to see Sasha do a 4z-1lo-backflip-2t and break this dang thread once and for all

just jumps BV. no second half bonus.

Sasha:4S 4T 3Lz3Lo 3F-1lo-3S 3Lz3T 3F 2A = 58.8 last season layout
Anna: 4Lz 3F-3T 2A 3S 3Lz-3Lo 3F-2T-2Lo 3Lz = 53.6

Alena: 3Lz 3F-3T 3F-2T-2T 3S-3T 3Lo 2A 2A = 43.3 last season layout
Alena: 3A 3Lz 3F-3T 3F-2T-2T 3Lo 3S-3T 2A = 48 (last season layout 3a instead of 2a)
Alena: 3A 3Lz-3Lo 3F-3T 3F-2T-2T 3Lz 3S 2A = 49.7 (if she will repeat 3lz and 3f)
Alena: 3A 3A-3T 3Lz-3Lo 3F 3F-2T-2T 3Lz 3S = 54.4 (repeat 3A and 3lz)
Alena: 3A 3A-3T 3Lz-3Lo 3F-1lo-3S 3Lz 3F 2A = 55.6

So, hypothetically as we don‘t get the assingnments till I don‘t know when, how big of a chance is there that one of our three favourite youngsters will go to the JGP in Austria?
